what you have to understand about pacquiao and mayweather is

manny is a 135-140 fighter who is fighting at 147 for the challenge

mayweather is 147-154 fighter who is scared shitless to fight at 154

manny has no business fighting at 154
What you've said from here on is absolutely correct, and IT'S So OBVIOUS. Ot would be to a normally level heade objective person. The ONLY post which lays out the exact situation as it really is. The others who have been bllustering about this for months have completely missed the true facts. Congratulations.

Someone please post the fight-night weights of these fighters for their last bouts:

      Manny Pacquiao
      Floyd Mayweather
      Sergio Martinez

From there, you could debate whether or not Floyd/Manny should fight Sergio.

Also, Manny had been fighting and taking out premiere fighters for a DECADE before he got the oscar fight. sergio has only been fighting at the top level for 2 years.

Sergio was 178 pounds 2 months into training camp against paul williams (rematch). Thanks.
haha, bro, roach trained oscar before and knew he was done. obviously oscar was the bigger guy with the bigger name, but roach knew he didn't have it anymore, that's why they took it. after that win, they asked him about a margs or mosley fight, and he said they're a bit too big and good atm. it is what it is, i don't even want to see this fight, but i'm just saying. also, there's really not any big names at 160 or 168 that martinez could fight and have him be bigger than what he already is (to casual fans). bute? sturm? ward? how many people that somewhat know about boxing would be big fans of those guys? none of them are huge money making machines (at least in the states, where sergio is trying to be known)

I know he wants that cheddar, but the fact that he tries to make it sound like it's a fight that normally should happen is ridiculous. and how he tries to make it out like htye are "ducking him". and some posters actually buy into it.

tell sergio to call manny out at 150 and then he can say "he's being ducked and 'ran from'"

and no, i don't think sergio can still make 154, otherwise, why isn't he fighting there? why didn't he fight DZINZ at 154, his natural weight? why is he fighting darren barker at 160, rather than a guy of equal "name value" at 154?
I would bet my life that Martinez could make 154 for a fight with Manny or Floyd, and what do you think Bute or Ward would weigh on fight-night?

He is not, one word..... wrong !!

He is a large JMW, who could still make 154.

Give me the fight night weights of Manny against Mosley, and Floyd against Mosley (i.e. the fight night weights of their last bouts) and then you can determine whether it's fair for one of these guys to meet Sergio at 154.

(Oh yeah, I would also need Sergio's fight night weight against Dzinziruk)

So what? So did Marquez, and he is about to do it again.

" basically he was coming up from 130 pounds "

                  Rubbish.

" Oscar WAS NOT "shot" "

WTF? Get real. Hoya was shot, weight-drained, and dehydrated.

Even Freddie Roach admitted that, and he said that the weight would kill him.

Hoya was well-faded even back before Mayweather fought him.

Pacquiao was a slight favorite immediately prior to that fight, a poster has already verified the odds for the Hoya/Hatton/Cotto fights.

that's the fight i'd rather see, at a catchweight of course.

i didn't watch pacquiao/mosley live, did they even show their fight night weights? martinez was 170 on fight night against dzinziruk. pacquiao/martinez can't happen according to fight night weights i guess, albeit they're only 2 divisions away (1 since martinez can still make LMW).
only way is if manny somehow packs on a bit more lbs and can still perform as good. i said this before, perhaps to legitimize his "8" division world champion status, he should try fighting cotto or alvarez at 154, no catchweights. he can try weighing in at 148ish. i'm sure pac weighs 148 by fight night, maybe he can tests the waters again against those guys (just a thought).
