i think a big , strong guy who is a pressure fighter and can take his punches would give floyd trouble.
someone who will take 4 to land 1 and just keep the pressure on him for all 12 rounds.
someone who is much bigger and stronger that can wear him down.
someone who will just keep on throwing no matter if it lands or not or no matter where it lands , be it the arms , the shoulders , top of the head , etc.

someone like margarito several years ago.
I just don't see how any version of Margarito can beat Mayweather. He is too predictable, no real angles or movement just forward and swing. He would be target practice for Mayweather.
To beat Mayweather I think your best bet is to have some sort of freak physical gifts along with great focus and smarts. A great jab is key, but you must be able to throw something after that and mix it up so he doesn't time you. You need to fight without any set rhythm in order to confuse him.
I think the best chance of beating him would be someone like Forrest or Hearns. Pacquiao has a good chance, because the crowd will cheer any flurries he throws just like Oscar and that led to one judge somehow having Oscar winning the fight???!!
I disagree with the theory that the 1st Castillo fight is the blueprint on how to beat Mayweather. Several people since have tried it and it didn't work. I think fighters on Floyd's level correct mistakes or flaws so we'll only see them once. Mayweather-Castillo I was close and could have gone either way, but in the rematch Floyd beat him convincingly.
If it were my fighter I would tell him to back away from Floyd and make him come forward. Floyd is a great counterpuncher and counterpunchers hate to lead. If you make Floyd lead you may see him make a mistake. Now whether or not you can capitalize on that mistake is another story.
One last note on Mayweather-Castillo I: no matter who you thought won Floyd deserves credit for giving him the immediate rematch. If you look at the close fights that have happened recently (Alexander vs Matthyse & Kotelnik) or outright robberies (Williams-Lara) the receiver of the perceived gift decision hasn't shown any interest in setting the story straight. At least Floyd did. I hope Sturm does soon with Macklin like he said he would.

don't get me wrong floyd would have schooled margarito.
but margarito would have kept the pressure up on him like castillo did and floyd doesn't have the power to back margarito off.
and marg does have freak physical gifts.
his chin , his workrate and his huge size for a 147 fighter.
