Khan vs Bam Bam! There's a fight I could get excited about. Even Khan vs Ortiz would be awesome, although if Ortiz loses to Mayweather I doubt it would ever happen.

Mayweather vs Khan will happen eventually IMO though not for a while I'm betting. If by some slim chance Pac and May get in the ring anytime in the near future (which is what we ALL want), the two of them will be tied up with atleast a rematch no matter who wins. I'm sure both PR companies will have rematch clauses in their contracts. If they end up 1 and 1, we could be looking at a trilogy - and in that case Khan could be waiting for some time to come for Mayweather. But personally, I don't think we'll be seeing Pac/May fight for atleast 2 more years, because it seems like both PR companies (TR/GBP) are lining up their next opponents before their current fights are even fought yet. Well atleast Arum is. And if what Team Khan is saying is true (Morales next, Kell Brooks at WW) then by the time he's available to fight Mayweather, it will be right around the time I expect the Pac/May fight will be happening if I'm correct. I think Khans best chance at getting at Mayweather would be NEXT (December) but would be highly unlikely since certainly Khan needs a feel out fight at WW first. And then, would he step right up to Kell Brooks or an easier test for his first WW fight? I just see timing being an issue for Mayweather/Khan fight for a while.

The questioin then is, if Khan can't fight Mayweather in December, who does Mayweather fight next? Let's all hope that both PR companies put a REAL effort in to making the Pac/May fight a reality. But, the reality is that Bob Arum is too busy promising other fighters a shot at Pac right now. He's already mentioned now - Mike Jones, Brandon Rios, Timothy Bradley & God knows who else (Cintron before he lost). If Pac only has 4 fights left (his 5th was Mosely), where does Arum fit a fight with Mayweather in to the equation????

So from all accounts it seems like the only way a Khan/Mayweather fight happens by the end of 2012 is if Pac/Mayweather never fight.

Again I am holding Floyd to his word and he said "Pac is Next." The question was then asked does he want to fight Pacaquio and he said "Absolutely. Absolutely." So there it is.

If Pacquiao gets beat the way Mosley got beat no one will buy the rematch

thats why I didnt say Hopkins in that catagory. I said RJ, Mosley, Zab. I totally disagree with you that Floyd's speed & reflexes are his biggest things. What makes him the best is his far advanced ring IQ, Defense, and fundementals. Are you going to argue against Floyd being very high in those catagories?

Also I totally disagree that he depends on the speed & reflexes for hit & not get hit. Floyd isnt Sweet Pea. He very rarely dodges punches. What he does most is block punches. You cant hit him clean, not because he slips alot but because of his guard

all it takes is a split second

mayweather should have fought pacman in 2008

              he would have won easily

he's slowed down and pacman has scary power- if he gets knocked out its going to ruin his legacy and he'll have no one to blame but himself

I agree, those would be great match ups. There is a lot of great fighters coming up around welter. I could see Khan-Ortiz happening, though, even given Ortiz losing to Floyd. Both guys are 24, they should have plenty of career left.

I think the match would happen within two years. The promoters are laying out plans contrary to that, but I think that is all posturing. Pac and Floyd is huge, but I don't think the magnitude will hold up for longer than two years. There are too many good, young guys coming up, and Pac and Floyd are soon to be on their way out.

I think Khan needs at least a year. After that, however, I could see him being ready.

I think the only thing standing in the way of Pac and Floyd happening in about a years time is if the powers that be on Pac's side of the table would rather cede the match to Khan(or of course if one of them is beaten in the meantime).

Floyd's timing and ability to shoulder-roll, counter will all be affected as his reflexes and speed deteriorate. He is as good as he is because he has all those skill and is one of the most naturally gifted boxers. You think he'll be able to pull counter when he's slower and reacts later? you think he'll be able to move his body the same? His skills are reliant on his ability to react.

Merchant never gives Floyd his props until afterwards even then he looks for reasons to take them back. Floyd will beat Khan down and stop him easily. Zab has never lived up to his billing and Merchant knows that. The difference with Floyd is he is well preserved and doesnt abuse his body. Floyd is actually getting stronger with age, put that with his IQ and you have a serious problem on your hands. I predict Floyd will stop Ortiz and I think Ortiz would beat the hell out of Khan. Trust me there's a reason why Manny didnt accept Ortiz' challenge. People are quick to diss Berto now but nobody was calling his name before the Ortiz fight and even after.
