Thats why im gonna miss larry when he s finally gone. The dude just pimp slapped zab all over the place, best part is IT WAS ALL TRUE. Nothing stings like the truth. We need far more like larry in the media and a lot less **** riders. Just because someone is successful or has an abundance of talent shouldnt mean u cant criticize them. Keep it coming larry!

People still praying for a Mayweather loss.

Just about every fight since he was @ 130lbs

Think of how many times people got excited
          thinking hoping he would lose.

that's exactly what they sound like they're saying.

lolz...mosley landed 1 meaningful punch the entire fight, then proceeded to get his ass whooped the rest of the round. but hey, the excuse was "mosley couldn't finish floyd b/c he could no longer pull the trigger. i guess we get to test your theory against the younger, fresher ortiz.

He's the smartest fighter in the game, and he's the best defensive fighter in the game.

Thats why a guy like Hopkins can still dominate. If I ever build a fighter, I would want them to have those 3 key ingredients 1st & formost. Im not saying Floyd wont slow & lose but Im saying that he will have a much better chance then those other guys because he has those 3 things to rely on where as those other guys were just all about the speed & reflexes
good post. floyd's style is nothing like jones or mosley. he reminds me of a fast bernard hopkins, if you want to compare him to any "old" fighter. in fact, i could see floyd fighting well into his 40's if he chose.

I remember the effort Judah put on against Cotto and the resiliency he showed even after Cotto fouled him... he lost the fight but to me, it was his redemption. Maybe Merchant didn't remember that fight???

good post and true. zab did show a lot of heart even though cotto fouled him a few times. larry had a senior moment and forgot that bout.

Roy fought anything but technical. Now Floyd uses more technical ability than Roy per'se, but nowhere has the ring IQ of someone like Hopkins. Floyds speed is his number 1 asset. Hes very flat footed, and takes small steps and doesn't really strafe. Then again that's due to his ability do roll/duck (with ease and speed mind you) and counter. I love Floyd, but im not gonna BS the story.
floyd has god given talent TRUE. but very few boxers work as hard at their craft as floyd does. he does not just beat opponets on pure talent. many times he has had to change fight plans in the middle of the fight. his ring acumen is second to none. thats why a fighter has only a few rounds to beat floyd. once he makes adjustments he leaves his foe in the dust. there are few fighters that posses that type of skill set. j marquez and donair come to mind and of course b-hop. other fighter try to win on speed and power alone. thats why pac got a draw vs JMM in the first fight. pac had him beat hands down but couldnt make adjustments to JMM's adjustments and with poor advice from the corner he got a draw insted of a convincing win. floyd defense does not depend on his speed. his best asset is his ring intellect.
