Also my point, which went right over everyones head. Joe>Hopkins, no matter what Hopkins has done. There's no debating it. Joe's win just looks better and better every fight B-hop wins.I understand this was not directed at me but I feel a need to reply. I don't see many posters on this thread that are real Bhop haters, I should speak for myself, I'm not a Bhop hater. I understand that Bhop was and still is a great fighter and his legacy is much better than Joe's simply because he fought the better fighters. But, at the end of the day Joe still beat him and there is nothing that anyone can do to change that fact.
I will say this though: Roy Jones is better than both by a distance at his peak and to me there's no debaing that either. No matter what the records indicate.Comment

Lerdderman also had Castillo beating Mayweather when clearly that was not the case. The rematch 4 months later validated this. You are reading into it a little more than necessary. Hops is a late bloomer, as has been proven. He faced Joe while still on top and lost straight up. Ledderman has it 111-116 for Joe.
The judges scored it for Joe, so yes in a head to head comparison, there's no debate who was better because Joe proved it.
End of story.Comment

Actually Castillo landed like 100 more punches than Mayweather and him wining was not a stretch. The rematch happened because Floyd & everyone else but you apparently knows the decision was controversial. Calzaghe on the other hand outlanded Hops by quite a lot and was the aggressor.
Plus, what happens in the rematch has nothing to do with the original result.
Tarver knocked out Jones in their rematch, does that make him better?
Get the point?Comment

Lol at you saying Floyd thinks he lost. Nonsense. Floyd beat his a$$, even stood his ground and stopped boxing. Knocked him on his as$ in the second and didn't even get the call. Not to mention castillio was fighting dirty. Floyd whopped that as$ and this was validated in the dominant, unchallenging and easy rematch.Actually Castillo landed like 100 more punches than Mayweather and him wining was not a stretch. And yes Tatver WAS better than Jones at that point as the trilogy validated that Jones was done. Jones should have retired after winning a title at HWComment

I think deep down Hopkins knows Calzaghe is the baddest man he ever faced. Not many boxers have the mental discipline to deal with Hops antics, but Joe just shrugged it off and kept fighting.
I rank the big 5 like this:
1. Calzaghe
2. Bhop
3. Roy Jones
4. Glen Johnson
5. James ToneyComment

why would hopkins think a guy who barely touched him was the baddest man ever? imagine out landing a guy by a wide margin and barely getting hit clean the entire fight. i don't think you would have much respect for your opponent. now the 2 judges who scored it for calzaghe are the real badasses. they take the rules of boxing and throw them out the window. mavericks!Comment

this is boxing. the most corrupt sport in the world. how many times has the a- side fighter won a fight he didn't deserve? it happens all the time. it's actually rare that it doesn't happen. hbo was big on calzaghe at that time and already had jones-calzaghe on hbo ppv all setup. hopkins was a boring fighter they wanted to get rid of. of course they were rooting for joe and you can clearly see that with the biased commentary. the crowd was also 99 percent pro calzaghe thus negating hopkins so called hometown advantage that you think he had. i'm not saying they paid off the judges or anything but all those factors obviously influenced the judges into favoring calzaghe. look how they gave him rounds like 2, 3, and 10. an unbiased judge would never give those rounds to calzaghe. So, now it went from being a bad decision, in your mind, to a huge conspiracy that everyone was in on except Byrd. Jeez guy you are really, really reaching. And I have to ask, are you one of those guys that wear tin foil hats so Big Brother can't hear your thoughts? And what is your opinion was there a second shooter on the grassy knoll?Comment
