Martin...no bs about it. How many times have you had to make weight for a fight? If you can't understand after that explanation I will have to conclude it's because you don't want to. I know from experience on here that you're a knowledgable fan.
Well, as stated in my other post, there are two ways to look at this: It's tainted because Castillo came in overweight, and it wasn't for the belts anymore (similar to making the Superbowl a non-title game). You can also look at it as Castillo got his revenge after some bull**** in the first fight.
Yeah, you can say this was tainted, but what I'm really trying to get at is this: people shouldn't be taking all credit from Castillo because he missed weight by a couple of pounds. He knocked him out, and we can't really say that the extra three pounds did more or less for him in the fight.
Give the guy some credit, at least. He did exactly what he said he was going to do, and he was so confident, he bet $100,000 on it.
Total bull Vb Martin, Corrales again is not a natural lightweight, the guy is a tall fighter, he can make the weight, did u see the fight?Castillo fought brilliantly those three rounds, excellent counterpunching!
Yes, Castillo did fight brilliantly. That left hook that ended it is one of my all time favorite punches.
Just for clarity, I'm not saying that Corrales lost because of the extra 4 lbs. He was clearly outfought tonight. I (barely) gave him the 3rd round, when Castillo seemed to lay back a little. Other than that, it was all Castillo landing flush, hard shots.
All I'm trying to say is that the weight difference cannot be completely ruled out as a factor in the fight, any more than the mouthpiece can be ruled in or out in the first.
