The way Pacquiao fights you might expect him to have a lower accuracy, a volume puncher, throws lots of bombs and throw lots combination.

On the other hand, Floyd a pot shotter, doesn't throw a lot and counter punches and waits for openings.

You would expect Floyds accuracy to be higher.

People expect this and believe with out looking at the facts.

For Pacquiao to fight the way he does and still to have a higher average connect percentage than Mayweather, fighting the way he does, just shows what an accurate puncher Pacquiao really is.

I think the only stats that truly matter are the ones between the two fighters when they meet. If anything, those stats will end this thread.

Obviously accucary is not the be all and end all of boxing, and may most likely not play a defining part in who wins if they should fight.

I'm just responding to this myth that Mayweather's accuracy is better than Pacquiao's, and that Mayweather accuracy is the greatest ever record as one post read yesterday.

Mayweather is far more accurate and his punches are far more effective.

You've lost the argument. Pacquiao punched himself in the face. He is not more accurate than Floyd Mayweather.

Yeah that why Pacquiao opponents get their faces rearanged and Mayweather opponents look like exactly the same as when they came to the ring.

Who gets more knock downs, knockouts, and hurt their opponents more?

            I tell you again.

Do you think that maybe has to do with the fact that he fights zombies?

Look at what Mayweather did to Mosley. His punches were far more effective and as far as I'm concerned, Shane was younger, faster, had no blisters on his feet, and looked worse fighting Mayweather than he did fighting Pacquiao. Floyd landed nearly all of his punches and they were very effective, unlike Pacquiao who is more sloppy and amateur than he is effective, in comparison to Floyd.

Is this the same Shane who had been out the ring for 17 months, gassed out after 3 rounds, and was stiff as a board?

And in that fight Floyd landed 46% of his power punches, lost the first two rounds and was hurt in the 2nd.

When Shane fought Manny, Pacquiao landed 50% of his power punches even though Shane was in defensive mode by round 3 and was not ring rusty and looked in better condition and used his footwork better.

Plus Pacquiao put Shane down, hit him harder that he was hit before and won every round.

Take a look at Shanes face after those fights, in which one does he look more beat up?

                  Good thread Bro

I disagree with you there though Bro. Floyd needs those stats to school someone for 8-10 rounds. Manny needs his stats to overpower his opponents comprehensively. If indeed they meet, one of those permutations come into play.

I agree they may play a part, maybe more so for Floyd. But Floyd could be landing at a higher connect percentage but Manny could be landing the more effective punches, or even get the KO.

Clottey landed at a higher connect percentage that Pacquiao, but Pacquiao won every round comfortably.

dude just stop no matter how hard you try pac is no where near as accurate as may you fail. i mean what may does is at another level. all pac does is throw alot of punches to connect 2 and if you have to swarm your oppent to land then you aint accurate.
