However, if Hatton continues to fight and beat guys in the fashion he did Zoo, his appeal on this side of the pond will wane. It's not particularly interesting to witness such a display, despite the positives such as Ricky's high output and display of chin. If Maussa is another ugly fight, Ricky's bargaining power will be diminished, despite wearing another belt.

By the way. If you can, check out Maussa-Cotto to see what has been known for a long while about Maussa. That man was given his championship by an arrogant opponent, which will now likely become Ricky's. Maussa is not highly regarded.
I'm pretty sure that the Hatton vs Maussa fight won't last more than 2-3 rounds tops.

Hatton will just blast Maussa out of there, and he will look devistating in doing it. (But it does bare remembering that Maussa is not skillfull or talented enough to pose any real threat to the hitman, so I wouldn't look on it as an amazing win, more a inevitablity).

Hatton's style is very exciting... It's fast paced, pressure fighting and it's not all "holding holding smoothering". He adapted these tactics for the Tszyu fight... He hadn't really fought like that before and I don't think we'll see him fight like that again. - (It was the right tactics for that particular fighter/fight, and it removed some of the danger that Kostya posed with that heavy right-hand).

Fingers crossed for the Hatton vs Mayweather MEGA fight in the summer of 2006'.

It would be hilarious if Hatton was disqualified for rough-housing and Maussa ended up with more belts. That's about the only way I can see Maussa winning. Unless he can stun Hatton with a massive headbutt.

Floyd is going to be unable to make excuses to avoid Hatton in demanding 99% of the $$$ and won't fight without it or by claiming that Hatton is not importatnt enough to fight.
Fight fans need to call bull**** on all the fights that get avoided. It doesn't change the situation but at least it brings it out in the open when fighters avoid fights with obvious strong challengers. Until Floyd is DEMANDING Hatton I don't see that we can accuse Hatton of ducking him. 2 years down the line potentially undefeated then Hatton will have no choice legacy-wise.
Maussa holds a belt that Hatton didn't want when he gave up his #1 contendership to fight Harris. And that was before Tszyu was even a possibility. Now that Harris lost, Hatton figures to go scoop up an easy belt against Maussa.

Oh and Hatton ducked the hell out of Zab Judah. He mentioned Judah one time way back a couple years ago. Judah called him out ever since when Judah was still talking 140. Hatton never mentioned Judah by name again, to date.

I agree. I can't see this fight lasting very long. It seems like Maussa has a very good chin, but Hatton will be relentless, destroy his body and basically dominate the fight.

Maussa has very limited skill. He throws looping punches which Hatton should avoid if he's not oblivious to defence in hunt of a KO. I don't see this happening though, I think he will have his constant attacking style but he won't be careless.

I'm also hoping for a mega fight like that in the summer. I hope we'll see this fight. It would be great. Hopefully Floyd doesn't screw up the negotiations, or simply move up to 147 to fight Judah. I wouldn't be disapointed in seeing a PBF vs. Judah fight, but it would suck not knowing how Hatton vs. Floyd would turn out. Here's hoping we'll see these two fight each other in the new year.

You do talk a lot of rubbish.

It was Manny Steward that pulled Harris out of the Hatton vs Harris fight.

And the only reason Hatton's not fighting Judah is because Judah got knocked out, and consequently moved up out of the 140lb division. Maybe there's a possibility that Hatton and Judah might get it on in the future, but there has never really been any talk about a match up between the two before.

That's my big concern too... That Mayweather screws up the negotiations.

It may just be me, but I actually don't think Mayweather is very keen at all on fighting Ricky Hatton. I hope that's not so, but his business actions, moving up and away from 140lbs doesn't fill me with confidence.

No offense, but thats a really dumb question. Ofcourse Mayweather wins from Cotto and breaks his undefeated record, Mayweather has the fastest handspeed in the division, I think the outcome of Mayweather-Hatton fight would be Mayweather By UD
SCORE = 117-112 117-12 118-110 ALL for Mayweather. Im a Hatton fan from the start when he had the WBU Light welterweight title, but these are the facts I dont think no one can beat Pretty boy at the 140lb Division.

Whatever, Hatton was the #1 contender and the WBA even named him the mandatory and said Harris had to defend. Hatton turned it down. That's a fact, look it up. Harris couldn't pull out without vacating the title, which he wanted the Hatton fight anyhow.

WTF are you talking about? You're out of your element. New to boxing eh. Hatton called Judah out after the Judah-Tszyu fight, like in 2002-2003. Then Judah was all over it and Hatton never again mentioned Judah. Check your facts. I talk rubbish? Nope, I'm talking what actually went down.

When was Judah knocked out? Never really, but if you're talking about that early BS stoppage in 2001, that was before Hatton mentioned Judah. Hatton ducked Judah, that's an undeniable fact. No, there weren't ever any serious Judah vs. Hatton talks, you got that right. Damn right. Because Hatton didn't want any part of Judah. Explain why Hatton called Judah out, then as soon as Judah responded Hatton never mentioned Judah again, even to this date. Its been like 3 years now. Hatton is scared to even say Judah's name. Which hey, he's smart to not mention Judah. Smartest thing he can do is not mention Zab Judah.
