Video: Fedor and Lebedev sparing!

I dunno, I rate Fedor's BJJ above Hendo's by a fair distance. I think Fedor's TDD/counters are good enough to keep things standing, so working on his striking is a good approach, particularly his boxing as Hendo doesn't kick much.
Better BJJ may have helped him in his 2 defeats, but I think anyone of Fedor's size would struggle against Bigfoot, who is much bigger, stronger, and has very high level BJJ himself.Comment

Not even close. The only reason his jab works is because all his opponents load up in an effort to knock him out because his grappling skills strike that much fear in them.
Best boxers in mma are between frankie edgar and eddie alvarez.Comment

neither of those jabs are especially good.Comment

Fedor's Kick Boxing Coach said he was slowing down 2 years ago.... He said that Fedor lost alot his explosiveness, power, reflexes, speed, and agility......Dont forget Fedor is WAY past his prime, he dominated for a DECADE and beat anyone and everyone there was, Dude needs to retire, he is too stubborn to change his game. He's a shell of his former self and its sad seeing Lebedev school him in sparring.
Fedor still kills him in a streetfight, Boxing in a street fight only helps you with the first two punches, after you throw your 1-2 your opponent gets right in you and usually tackles you , knees you in the face, bottle to face, etc.
Also people need to understand that these Fedor helped Denis get prepared for Roy Jones..... Now hes returning the favor with helping fedor prepare for Dan Henderson....Comment

because his style is not conventional boxing. Hes more just lunging in with a looping punch trying to get through the weak guard of a mmafighter.
It's totally different from boxing when you have to be concerned with getting taken down, which a boxer with that stance would be in seconds.
People with a successful modified jab is coming along now in mma, especially gsp, but fedors unconventional style has been very effective in mma.
He is unorthodox....... He keeps his left hand down like Roy jones to lure guys in.... It worked because he was a great athlete and really fast at one point.....Comment

did you see his face at the end? or you care much of how cool you look in front of your budies. if so..than you will be in trouble. fight is a fight.
Also if you say other people jump..then it's your contingent of people. I've been involved in many street fights, since I am kid. either it's 1 on 1, or it's a brawl. we have mean guys, but at least they are fair. the idiots who would jump altogether on 1 guy, later will get punished 100x worse. either way, I disagree with your comments about mmaLast edited by Ogecca MaMa; 07-22-2011, 12:58 PM.Comment

Not true... Not at all. Just becuz u like 1, doesn't mean u have to like them all... I'd appreciate kickboxing, or Mui Thai, or even guys like Rampage or Nick Diaz that like to keep everything standing up, but the wrestling/grappling in MMA is boring. And more and more, MMA is become a grappling dominated sport. Sure it helps in a real fight, but dribbling and dunking won't help u at all in a real fight, and yet they find way to be more exciting...I KNEW it was gonna start this whole MMA vs Boxing crap. People just need something to talk about or they really don't know that these are two different sports. Put Lebedev in an MMA match against Fedor and see who wins. Put him against Fedor in a street fight and see who wins. Different sports. If you were a true boxing fan, you'd appreciate EVERY kind of combat sport because boxing is one of them.
Its not about fighter vs fighter, its about sport vs sport. That's what MMA fans don't get... U don't get paid for winning in a street fight. U do get paid for entertaining the fans, that's all that matters.Comment
