Hatton showed up to training camp at 200 pounds, because while he was an exciting fighter, he was not a well disciplined athlete. Back when the 24/7 ep's were airing Ricky boasting that unlike Manny, who was training for 8 weeks, Ricky trained for TWELVE!!!! Yeah, but at least half of that was to try to work off the mound of Shephard's pie and gravy in front of his massive gut. The rest was spent of boxing technique. Ricky at 200 pounds would have gotten his ass kicked by a 170 pounds Martinez, or a 150 pound Pacquiao. You might not be able to grasp that, but that doesn't stop it from being a fact.
Nice going dumba$$, YOU are talking about at the weigh-in, HE's talking about
Walking around weigh, which are two different topics.

You tried so hard to make sense and you didn't read his comment.

there's a possibility of a pac-martinez fight in 2012...after pac demolish the cry-baby boy and after chicken floyd retire again after beating ortiz, pac might be forced to face martinez...that would be great...

and easy fight for the pacman...

Sure he fought margarito on 154 belt with 150 lbs weight limit.. can martinez go down on that weight to make the fight? pac did not even show up 150 on margarito fight and. pac. goes up in weight to take a challenge, while martinez cant go up to super MW and fight those fighter instead his calling out fighters in lower weights.

Overlord Martinez should just move up a weight and fight bigger guys.

            Shit isn't complex.

Pacquiao is the junior light middleweight champion of the world so why not fighting Martinez? Martinez is originally a super welterweight I mean Pacquiao said that he wanted the bigger guys to Roach for example he said that he wanted Margarito next after the Clottey fight. This fight would be competetive. But this fight might not happen.

                Pacquiao??? How about Donaire?

why does team martinez even mentions pacquiao or floyd jr?
why do they never talk about the likes of Ward, Froch or Bute.
they keep calling out these smaller men.
pacquiao is even having hard time catching the welterweight limit.
and floyd, how many times did he fight at jr. middle?
does martinez mention manny & money because they're considered the 2 p4p best fighters in the world?
oh maybe next time we'll hear him calling nonito donaire out since nonito is no.3 in most p4p rankings. right?

However there was a rehydration clause. This is how Pacquiao is able to drain his opponents and still be able to deny having used a catchweight when questioned about it.

                  Its an old trick.

Most fans aren't educated enough to know what a rehydration clause is. Most just learned about catchweights because Pacquiao has been using them in recent years.

What happened in the case of DLH and Margarito was that they were asked to make weight, which is of course a standard practice. However on the night when most fighters are able to rehydrate and come in at a heavier, more comfortable weight, DLH and Margarito were stipulated not to.

Any student of the game would tell you that there was no advantage to what DLH or Margarito did. It didn't enhance speed, strength or stamina. In fact, it sapped all 3 of those attributes.

Arum and Roach know all the old tricks. Bob Arum is a Ring Master aware of a dozen ways to tilt a fight in his favor. Its naive to believe that a promoter wouldn't bet on a fight that he has intimate knowledge about, which is why it was always seen as a conflict of interests when Top Rank or Don King had two of their own fighters in the same match.

Arum knows this, but he counts on the ignorance of the fans and especially the gamblers. Pacquiao/Cotto, Pacquiao Clottey & Pacquiao/Margarito never should have happened. Arum knew if those guys had injuries. Arum knew if those guys had tendencies. Arum knew if one of those guys were having a life crisis. In other words, only Arum and other Top Rank affiliates would have intimate knowledge of both camps, and could therefore hedge their bets.

A rehydration stipulation is just one such tool.

Fans of Pacquiao are so blind that they actually believe the best about Bob Arum who has been found guilty of bribery in boxing on more than one occasion. And those are just the times that he's gotten caught.

                  Don't be so naive.

If you look at nearly every Top Rank boxer's accomplishments, you'll see the hand of Bob Arum in it. They say that only two men answer the bell, but you better believe that there's a third man's hand felt in that ring when its time to hear the score cards. A knockout is the best chance you've got to win against a Top Rank fighter or any sleazy promoter. Look at Paul Williams recent decision. If you think that wasn't motivated by a payoff then you are more naive than I originally thought.
