Margarito is a natural 154-pounder, as is Martinez. Margarito fought Pacquiao for the 154-pound belt at a catchweight of 150 pounds. 150 pounds is a catchweight Margarito followed when he fought Pacquiao. That doesn't change the fact that Margarito is a natural 154-pounder. If Pacquiao was able to fight Margarito under those terms, then there is no reason why he wouldn't be able to fight Martinez. I for one would like to watch an entertaining fight in which Pacquiao is in real danger. Personally, I think Darren Barker and Roach's proposition of a Martinez-Quilin matchup are insults to Martinez's position as the #2 pound-for-pound fighter in the world. If Roach really thinks Martinez is not as dangerous as people think, then he should go through with a Pacquiao-Martinez matchup.

Martinez has made it clear in interviews that he is only looking for a few more fights ... big money fights at that ... and then wants to retire. The only big money fights out there for Martinez is Mayweather or Pacquiao. He's not going to make big bank by fighting Ward, Froch, Bute, Hopkins, Pascal, Dawson or even a Klitschko at this point.

Sergio was very clear about what his goals are. A couple more big money fights and he's gone. Pacquiao ain't going up to fight him. Sergio aint gonna be willing to take Floyd's tests. Sergio will continue to fight weak opposition in a weak division.

So sergio said no to the tests if they were to ever come up? I dont remember hearing or reading that. And yes Martinez has already said that Pac is to small but it was Roach who started the insulting and Matinez manager called him out again. After all no matter what anyone says Pac supposedly won Martiniez's old belt, against a fighter that wasnt ranked in the division and was struggling to keep hi career alive, yet wont defend it against him. And Ward, Bute, Froch all have fights already. Bute has two lined up.

Pac fought those fighters at catch weight and when they were on their worst..he fought the shells..he didn't fight the cotto who beat mosley he didn't fight the margarito who beat cotto..and de la hoya?? What weight did floyd fight him and what weight did pac fight him?? De la hoya didn't fight at 145 for the last 10 years.

Yeah, DLH did not fight Pac at a catchweight. They fought at 147. And DLH wasn't gonna fight Pac at 154. He would've let Pac go up an insane three weight classes and gotten ripped by the press for it.

Pac was NEVER going to defend, regardless as to the outcome of that fight.

They just cheated history by stealing a vacant JMW title by beating a faded welterweight bum.
