George Foreman's boxing legacy: He is the dope in the phrase rope a dope.
Not sure if people should be taking boxing wisdoms from a guy most famous in the ring for being a moron. I mean this guy wasnt even clever enough to think of names other than George to name his kids. He needs to go back to selling grills.
Awesome: summed it all up with that one. The sidearm wide puncher got exposed by Ali and would get his skull fractured by either K-Bro.
Another vile tongued piece of lower humanity who cannot conduct himself in decent company.I'm not looking to educate you, however much you show you need it. If you can't conduct yourself in a responsible, discoursive manner, please get off the board. Don't comment on any of my posts or I will bar you. Then you can write as much and as offensively as you wish,.....with no one to answer you.,
Why don't you hurry up and die you pseudo intellectual phony. You know nothing about boxing. Other than lying, rewriting history, and creating your own alternate universe, you contribute nothing here.
And Foreman was over 40 years of age. But I guess he doesnt get a pass like your hero. What's your excuse for Wlad getting knocked out by a guy (Corrie Sanders)who never beat a single top 10 contender going into that fight? And don't even try to make Sanders something he wasn't. He was a mediocre fighter. If you say otherwise I'll gladly embarrass you.
And I already know Purrity and Morrison fought to a draw. I dont need boxrec like you apparently do. The difference is Morrison had a better career than Purrity and will always be known as the better fighter whether you like it or not. If anything at least Morrison got up and finished the fight with Purrity. Wlad couldn't. Purrity was a journeyman, sparring partner, and a club fighter. Nothing else. You've picked the wrong poster for that BS.
I have to ask why does Wlad need an excuse for losing to Sanders? You may believe that Corrie was a mediocre fighter and that very well may be true. However, and I believe most fans would agree, that he had decent power and pretty fast hands. And it showed in several fights such as the Rahman fight and the fights with both Klit bros. And Sander's also knocked a few pretty durable fighters. So it was obviously not a fluke that he caught Wlad cold. And that happens, after all it is boxing and fighters get knocked out and yes sometimes even by lesser fighters.
Even the Pacman was knocked cold by a fighter with a 15-8 career record. And I don't hear any of his detractors asking for an excuse for that fight. That is also why Ring magazine happens to have an "Upset of the Year" category. Because they are a big part of the allure of boxing, at least they are to me.
With that said if Sander's would have out boxed Wlad over the distance of ten or twelve rounds and won the fight then I would have been totally shocked. And by the way I get the feeling that most fans believe Sanders was more so a missed opportunity then a mediocre fighter.
foreman is right, since the golfer, aka sanders beat the **** out of wlad, he has fought like someone who is scared. wlad knows deep down, that his chin sucks and that makes him hesitant. HIs whole style is centered about his weak chin.
Stop with the wlad would beat foreman, one mean look and wlad would have a panic attack. The first punch foreman would connect with, would end the fight

The bigger question is why people like you feel the need to discredit Foreman's career as well as Joe Frazier's. Simply because you do don't like his opinion on W Klitschko.Answer that before you ask me any questions.

Yep. LENNOX, suddenly revered here in a way he never was while active, got knocked cold by a fat journeyman and a crackhead. Case closed.
They were both afraid to engage either one could have won me over as a fan had they shown some heart and really fought aggressively but I agree with Foreman Wlad being much bigger and supposedly this great champ should have taken more risks if he wants to be considered up there with the greats. That fight if you could even call it that, was painfully boring and shows how pathetic the heavyweight division is these days.
