interesting idea, but some fighters expend a lot of energy in post-fight celebrations, they might be drained if a thirteenth round was needed.Comment

I don't like this idea. You can't decide a winner from 3 minute fight, you will be rather winner of the round, but not the winner of fight, because your opponent will probably deny loss. It will give lot of controversies and robberies, I don't think that judges will be always giving 3-0 for the 13th round, in most of the cases the scores gonna be 2-1, so losing side will alwalys complain about it. If two guys fought a draw for 12 rounds, this means they are equal in boxing.
If you beat your opponent with 2-1 score in the 13th round, that means you are rather lucky to be on the winning edge, when you didn't clearly show anything better than your opponent. 12 round rule was probably made to make winners margin to be at least by 2 rounds, i.e. 7-5.Last edited by Instinto; 07-14-2011, 01:56 PM.Comment
