What is the General Consesus on Erislandy Lara

I think Lara is the class of 154 and would favor him over anyone at the weight.

I've been saying before the Molina fight and that fight notwithstanding, I still think the same thing.

As he continues to acclimate to the pro game I think he's gonna have that Floyd/Ward thing going on where no matter who he fights and how much they try and implement their game plan, by the middle of the fight they'll be fighting Lara's fight.

talented but flawed. quite good on the outside, terrible at close range.


I think that Williams always had problems with clever southpaws, ie Quintana, but he also looked worse in that fight than usual. His boxing brain doesnt seem to exist, he could have easily just accumulated points by semi-clinching and mugging Lara at close range, but instead he just kept eating the same exact partially telegraphed left hand over and over with no adjustments.

His inside game consists of smothering punches and holding. Other than that, I think he's excellent.
