Cotto was a top fighter in the division that was being pumped up by Arum back in '05 at Jr. Welter... but he wanted no part of Mayweather, then. Same with Hatton at the time. At least Hatton pushed for the Mayweather fight, Cotto's never shown any interest in a Mayweather fight outside of, "It's up to my promoter."

I still can't believe that fucker fought Judah after Judah lost to a journeyman...And, it's worse that his fans defend that move by making up stories...And, then he fought that journeyman

Anyways...Floyd didn't duck Cotto...Neither guy was eager to fight each other when the fight should have been made.

If you blame Floyd then you also have to blame Cotto.

had one of the best jabs in boxing but was busted up every fight? He has been beat up by much lesser fighters than Mayweather. Cotto wouldt pose any problems to Mayweather....

Judah landed a punch... Cotto reacted to the punch e.g. head turned (looked a bit funny) normal response to a blow to the face. These lil kids wanna make it seem like Cotto was "hurt" Watch the fight, Cotto was still hunting his ass down and all Judah did was hop around the ring in FEAR. Just cause a hard punch lands doesn't mean the guy was in trouble... sht was more annoying than anything. Bottomline at no point in Cotto's career can a fighter like Judah beat him. Judah just not durable enough.

Cotto has a slight arrogance... the kind of arrogance every man should have. What I mean by that is that Cotto is NEVER going to sweat another fighter. He ALWAYS wanted the Floyd fight but will NEVER stoop to making FLoyd think he is ALI by sweating that coward in interviews. In Cotto's mind, he was just as good as Mayweather and need NOT act like Floyd is the crowning ***el on his career. Kinda like how I refuse to sweat a bytch... fck that

What made Cotto a top fighter at 140 in 05'?

Cotto was an elite P4P level fighter and ranked #1 at WW at the end of 07 through mid 08....During this time period and only this time period. Was the best time to make that fight...

Not in 05' at 140 *sigh*

And, lets not forget what Floyd said when Cotto was mentioned during this time period..."I will retire from boxing, I won't let boxing retire me." And, then went on to negotiate a rematch with Oscar before "retiring." Thank goodness he retired instead of going through that whack ass rematch...

To Floyd credit....Around this time as well....Cotto was not eager to fight Floyd either. He never once reached out to make the fight happen. So can't blame Floyd.

Again if you will blame one then you have to blame the other as well.

um he beat both of the guys because everyone thought Zab had an off night and overlooked Baldomir....there was no stories made up....the fact is Baldo was supposed to be a tune up, zab had a horrible showing and lost...Mayweather beat both of them back to back......

I still cant believe it took Cotto 34 fights to finally beat a world champion holding a belt. I cnat believe the boxing fans and media hyped this guy up from 140 and up by just winning VACANT Titles.... this dude is only 30 years old and is washed up....

He lost to a journeyman...No reason to fight him. No reason to defend such a shameful fight. But, again what are ****riders suppose to do right?

                    I agree with Cotto...Hence why he's not even a HOF'er.'

You act like I give a damn what you say about Cotto?

This "great fighter" fought a journeyman and the guy who lost to a journeyman back-to-back

I see you grew up on Mac and Cheese and therefore sweat Floyd and his money tossin ****** routine to the point where you are BLIND.

See, now you are sounding like Floyd. You are trying to make sense of a cowards career by justifying fights like Gatti and Baldomir because they were lucky enough to have a belt? You know your boy ngga rich had NO desire to fight Cotto. Cotto was smashing guys that went the whole night with Floyd. Come on now...

Get off that Kool Aid and Mac N Cheese and you'll be aight.
