This is why i love Erik Morales, though i think hes full of **** haha. No way will Erik's ego and competive spirit allow him to give major props to anybody. This dude is a fighter. in his mind he's still the best in Mexico and his arrogance doesnt allow him to give props to someone hes competing against. Same with Marquez, they still want to be Mexico's number 1 so theyre going to put down anyone on the come up while theyre still fighting.

Thomas dulorme is the best 20-21yr old prospect in the sport, not canelo, canelo is a hypejob feasting on bums, dulorme will destroy canelo

What I do think is that Canelo is the best 20-21 year out there in the sport. Do you guys remember what Morales looked like at 20-21 years of age? He wasn't as good as when he was 23-26. I mean, at 21, he struggled mightily against the 39 year-old Zaragoza; and was huffing and puffing when he finally knocked him out. But Morales got better! The same way, look for Alvarez to get better (and I do see him getting better)... Also, what a back-stabber Morales is. The young guy, Alvarez, was there for his fight (against Maidana), supporting him and cheering him on, and he comes out with these statements! If indeed he really feels that way about Alvarez, then stay quiet. There's no need to kick another man down, especially a 20 year-old who looks up to you... No la chinges Terrible. Esas son mamadas!!!
Even though Morales is my favorite fighter I actually agree with this.

The reason I don't like Canelo isn't because of his skills, its the opposition he has faced and the title that was given to him. I can't respect a young strong boxer fighting bums. Its not like he just started his career he has 30 someting fights right. In the beginning your allowed some gimmes but once you have as many fights he does its not acceptable.
Look at Barrera, Marquez, and Morales they were all fighting much stiffer competition when they were Canelos age.
I think you fail to realize that Barrera, Marquez, and Morales where in a much smaller weight division where YOUTH is king. Smaller fighters typically have a shorter shelf life than the higher weight classes. Thus the stiffer competition.

But I do totally agree that Canelo was basically hand awarded that belt. I can't call that a true championship.

Just FYI. Morales has been my favorite fighter since 2002. I paid for his comeback fights and went to his fight against Maidana (I actually met his dad which was very cool)... I just think it gets old that he never has anything good to say about any fighter. Like I said in my other post, it's just plain mean to talk about a fighter who looks up and respects you!

That's true. But I don't think it was constructive at all. I don't know, I wasn't there for the interview.

i do agree with this. i don't recall really hearing morales ever praise anyone, he's always been the one to try and give some criticism. either way, i think saul's decent for his age. i'm a bit disappointed he doesn't try to stop the subpar opposition he is facing now, but i guess if it helps him, it's for the better, perhaps.
