and he'd be the first to admit it.

i dunno about that bro..that was a GREAT showing for Lara but i'm not sure how many JMWs, besides Molina, would wanna get in there with him right now..no potential fights and an 'L' on the record...poor dude

      Alexander vs Matthysse
      Williams vs Lara
      Chavez Jr. vs Zbik

      And lame ones:

      Bradley vs Alexander
      Alvarez vs Hatton
      Alvarez vs Rhodes

While, Showtime has been consistent with the exception of Pacquiao vs Mosley:

      Donaire vs Montiel
      Rios vs Acosta
      Darchinyan vs Perez
      Froch vs Johnson
      Ward vs Abraham
      Rios vs Antillon
      Cotto vs Mayorga

Showtime by far owns 2011 in terms of great boxing in a consistent manner.

      awesome breakdown man...green K

Nice thread, Mak. I'll echo the thought: the night was overshadowed by the Lara-Williams atrocity. I've said enough about that debacle (or have I?), so I'll try to suppress my thoughts on it in this thread.

The Antillon-Rios fight was three smokin' rounds of old-school action. That's a fight. If a slugfest like that goes on for too long, there's a risk of someone meeting their maker. Rios looked like he was demonstrating a boxing textbook in there, the way he was executing hooks, uppercuts, crosses and jabs. Antillon did what he could, for as long as he could, but the better man scored the KO.

I would've scoffed at your mention of Molina-Lara II at the end of their first meeting. My impression was that Carlos was an underrated, respectable fighter, but that Erislandy took the fight lightly. Molina has since proven that his performance versus Lara was no fluke. Erislandy exceeded my expectations versus P. Will, but I wouldn't mind seeing him get a couple of more fights in before moving up to the bigger boys. Enter Carlos....

I was at the Rios fight. After that electric fight we went home to watch the PWill fight and it totally ruined the high from the Showtime card.

                It was painful to watch.

yup...new players are popping up at 154...hopefully we get some more good matchups with those guys

im kinda glad i watch the williams bull**** first...that would have been an awful way to end my night...saving Rios-Antillon for last helped this fight fan sleep well amidst that robbery

I only watched Rios-Antillion and most of Williams-Lara.

                      I enjoyed both fights.

I enjoyed Rios-Antillion because it was an all out war. I was disapointed because I expected it to go much longer but ahh well can't complain.

I enjoyed Williams Lara because I bet that Lara would win by descion and was certain I was in for a great pay day. For the judges to **** me over.

I like Lara though and he performed with the potential I believed he had.
