You'll see a lot of flame wars between me and this idiot, which I continually own.

BTW, it's his father that spied in the Whitehouse and FBI. Such a shame.

Believe it, last weekend I shelled out $50 dollars for what in all reality was WWF bul****!

Jones had no intentions of winning the fight, absolutely non, when he fought Gelnn Johnson and Johnson came out in the first to fight, jones then had no intentions of winning...warrior...I think not!

Maybe there are two versions of warriors, Jones warriors and Corrales warriors...

The sport was ripped off last weekend, Roy may have been a warrior but not in recent memeory he is not...

It is too easy to say that all fighters are warriors just because they put on gloves, it is just to easy.

Warriors do more then just put on gloves, the prepare to WIN.

In boxing we have become far too accustom to calling every fighter out their a warrior simply because they fight for a living, well lets put that **** to bed!

Do we call all champions great because they have a belt? **** no, so why should we call all fighters warriors just because they fight.

Case in mother****ing point...Jose Luis Castillo and Diego Corrales...are they warriors...absolutely...think about these two for a second, not just their epic war but what they have done in the past 5 or so years...they define exactly what a warrior is.

Now look at Roy Jones and Toney Tarver...what have they done to deserve the title WARRIOR, sure Tarver got his ass whupped by Harding in their first fight and came back to win the second but is he a warrior for that? Hell Jones has never done anything remotely related to "warrior status". (but they are referred to by us and by themselves all of the time as warriors)

Point of the thread is this, if Roy Jones and Toney Tarver and any other fighter who puts on gloves professionally is a warrior then we have a problem...by making this mistake we disgrace true warriors like the ones we will witness on Saturday night.

Not all champions are great and not all fighters are warriors...opinions anyone...especially the Jones contingent...

why are jones and tarver not warriors and corrales and castillo are?

jones came back against tarver after being knocked out by him and johnson, and he was koed by johnson for several minutes and it took like 20 minutes for him to even get to his feet.

if thats not a warrior i dont know what is. if he came back against glass joe that would be impressive much less the first guy to knock him out.

tarver and jones have much more skill than castillo, and chico and thats why they are not in brawls with knock downs like that.

once again fighters are faulted for not being hurt and coming back to win and just dominating more than people like gatti who take punishment against d level opponents and have to come back to win.

corrales and castillo are b+ level fighters and they are warriors but jones and tarver are at least as much warriors if not more.

they would both do the same thing if they were put in that position to go life and death.

but they have complete different fighting styles with a lot more skills than castillo or chico.

if chico and castillo could fight like jones or tarver believe me they would and they woudl use their skills instead of brawling and taking punishment when it isnt necessary.

but they cant and they only have the one way of fighting, and they use it.

I think what Scap is saying is when two fighters of such calibre meet in the ring, people expect to see gladiators willing to spill their own blood just to put the other man down.

But this fight turned out to be ballroom dancing with a few actions to speak of.

Some people have different opinions of the meaning of Warrior, is all I'm saying.

You say Jones came back after being knocked out....sort of...

He did not come back to win, just showing up is not good enough for me, tricking the boxing world is not good enough for me...I need to see some actios and training for a fight is one thing, training to win a fight is entirely soemthing different and if Roy Jones was a warrior he would have not only trained but trained to win.

Can you imgaine Sugar Ray Leonard coming back to simply lose on his feet? Sure Ray was a cutie pie like Jones but he never was satisified with anything but the "W".

Tarver may be a warrior I can give you that and Jones was probably a warrior at one point in his career but that time has past and if you cant recognized that you were robbed last weekend by a fake then I guess you didnt shell out the $50 bucks.

Warriors are people you walk down an alley with, they are people you want watching/protecting your back...Ill take JL Castillo and Diego Corrales (who are not b+ fighters by the way) with me down an alley any day...taking Jones would be suicide.

To Me Warriors Are Straight Out Brawlers Somebody That Cant Stand To Be Booed!! By The Fans. How The Hell Would That Look Like If You Seen A Street Fight Down An Alley And Hes Running Around All Defensive Scared To Get Hit And Running Around, To Me That Would Look Pretty Silly! Thats Just My Opinion.
