LOL Wlad has the style he has because of his physical attributes.

How are we to know what kind of fighter he would be if he was 6'2"?

Fighters are what they are because of their physical attributes.


Like the Dirk example mentioned.

Dirk plays the way he plays partially due to his size. This is why you dont see Derek Fisher post up Dwight Howard.......

Size is important. There are weight divisions in boxing for a reason. The only reason there is no super heavyweight is because there wouldn't be enough people in it.

In percentage weight terms (to make the comparison fair for heavyweights), Wladimir Klitschko fighting Haye is like Khan fighting Froch.

and the fact that once you reach a certain size the physical advantages began to disappear. A SMW is almost always going to hit harder than a JWW while the hardest HW punchers are usually 220lbs more so than 250+.

This used to be more true than it is currently. It is way less the case now than it used to be infact as atheletes are getting bigger generally. Whilst I agree my example was a bit of an exaggeration, Haye was at a huge disadvantage and that is undeniable.

I agree that size is an advantage, but then again so is speed. With Hayes handspeed and punching power I believe he was hindered more by the fact he was scared of Wlad than the fact Wlad was too much to handle physically. The reason people were giving him a chance is because he could hurt Wlad if he threw the punches, he just forgot to throw them.

I'm not a Haye fan btw (I was until he fought like a *****) I just don't think Wlad is as technically good as he is made out to be. It is a myth that Haye ran, he just moved his head and didn't throw enough punches. Wlad found it very difficult to deal with Haye's head movement (which shouldn't be the case for someone with his speed).

I dont think Wlad looked great against Haye either which is where my point is coming from. I dont think it was Wlads size that won him the fight it was Haye not throwing punches. He was able to land when he threw them he just didnt like the punches he caught in return. Wlad being big is to his advantage, but Haye had advantages as well Wlad just used his better.

Wlad is age 35. I've seen all his fights more than once, and I can tell you he's not as fast as he was when he was 25.

His defense is better than it was back in those days though. He's more crafty now.
