yeh i agree pretty much. Moschino - remember when eubank was on his tour on skysports etc....he was getting a lot of lucky decisions from the judges and really was failing to live up to his potential and ability. I think this wud let him down against roy jones - he wud try and do just enuff to win but this wudnt be enuff.....also - why do u think eubank stopped fulfilling his potential and ended up doing the minimum required?? did he get lazy in the gym??

Well i think the quick and slick Eubank of 1992 would probably easily defeat the quickly-aged weight-drained Eubank of 1994 (altho u have to say probably the bodypunching clinic against Rocchigiani and counterpunching clinic against Wharton would of caused problems for the 1992 Eubank lol). the problem was that Eubank was having weight problems for the Benn 2 fight in autumn 93 and when he signed his skysports deal in summer 94 he was better off fighting at lightheavy or crusier because he was weighing 175-190 IN TRAINING and had to starve himself a week before each fight in 1994/95 just to make 168 and bounce up and down in the sauna alday in the days before the weigh-in.

He lost his finishing instinct because of the Watson incident.

Eubank was a huge super middlewight....reminds me a lot of jeff lacy size wise. V different fighters - in fact there is a fight which wud have been great....1992 Eubank vs current day lacy. Lacy's style is made for eubank in my opinion - just depends on whether eubank can be bothered to work every round or if he takes rounds off like he usually did.

Btw - benn was robbed in the Eubank v Benn II

i read that when Eubank came back to England in april 1987 he just trained martial arts for a while with Freddy King and Walter Johnson, each session they made him do a minimum of three rounds of jump rope before he could even start shadow boxing (Banks had never done jump rope before but says there is no better training tool for reflexes, leg strength, timing and most of all endurance). Banks says that the martial arts stuff he had been learning helped his technique and boxing style, he came back to boxing when he needed money and Walter Johnson was learning him about weight distribution etc and it helped develop his skills n **** for boxing.

No disrespect, but anyone with an avatar of Chris Byrd expressing an opinion on boxing is opening themselves to derision. Or, to use the venacular, "pwning themselves".

Too high or too low? I was checking on boxrec, so I'm relying on them. Career was (ISTR from last night) 21 KOs altogether.

People say that but last time I had it scored I thought that was fair enough. Eubank himself said that he was lucky Benn got a point deducted, which is fair enough, and Benn WAS doing the flashier work that night. But as a boxing match, on a round-by-round basis (bearing in mind Eubank's balls were taking a pummelling all night) I personally didn't see anything wrong with a draw.

I agree, i had Benn winning by a round in that fight so i didn`t agrue with the draw. Eubank was very good.

I attended Eubank`s last fight in Shefield in 1998. He was cheered by everyone, chants of Eubank, Eubank.Carl Thompson ( his ooponent ) didn`t have a friend in the building. Shows you that in the end,he did win the respect!

Yeah, I just think in their second fight the rounds Benn won he won bigger... it's just as a scored boxing match. Mind you, Chris was no slouch in the second either.
