Yes, I think we had a few heated but always good spirited exchanges. I exhanged a PM or two with you here as well. Still going strong.

Hello Big Dunn. Are you the guy I used to exchange comments with over at ESB. I always thought you knew your stuff. I had too get out of there when it became so rotten that a genuine poster couldn't even breathe without being attacked by truckloads of filth and obscenity. BoxingScene is a "gentlemans club" by comparison, although there's sometimes far too much drek thrown around.
Sorry for this duplicate Post. My computer has a mind of it's own and posts disappear from time to time, never to be seen again. But this time it changed it's mind. Again, apologies.

Throw the alphabet belts in the trash can: They're ALL worthless. The belt with any credibility left is Ring Magazine's.

            1) Ring
            2) WBO
            3) IBF
Screw all the other WBA/WBC where there is 3 belts per weight class, and WBC is messican only.

I mean look at this clown Broner, dude holding these belts like any of them mean something. Quality look pretty cheap, something those WWF fans make in their basement to pretend they are wrestlers.

WBF Champ is Evander Holyfield (lol)
IBA HW Champ is James Toney (double lol)

Another thing Mack, I recall last year in an answer to one of yours, commending you on chosing Johhny Tapia in your photo. A much underrated fighter, and never really given the respect as a fighter that he'd earned. he was VERY good.

                  A little story.

The WBC gained a LOT of respect when it awarded a SPECIAL title to that Great Hungarian Boxer Laszlo Papp. He had signed to meet Joey Giardello for the Middleweight Title and was fancied to win, when the Hungarian Communist Government, having survived the Hungarian Revolution, forbade him to go. Made him give up boxing and coach the National Team. He was the only pro boxer in the whole Communist Bloc. He was that good.

The WBC 1989 Award was "The best Amateur and Professional Boxer in Boxing History". His Amateur Record was ...... 307-12...His Pro Record was 27-0. Jose Torres World Lt.Heavy Champion, was one of his Olympic opponents.

He was only 5'5" tall and fighting middleweight and lt.middle, although he could have got to welterweight. He was the FIRST TRIPLE OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALLIST in History antedating heavyweight Theophilio Stevenson by over 20 years.

There have only been 3 triple winners in history. (2 from Cuba, 1 from Hungary)

As a little sidenote of the time, I was on a ship to Canada during the week that the Hungarian Revolution was on, and used to listen to it's progress on the radio.
At the same time, I could also listen to the capture of ther Sinai Peninsula and Suez Canal, by Israel from Egypt. It took only a couple of days.

And I was sailing to a new life of adventure.

I think only the decent guys came over here.

WBA and WBC are joke belts having three or four champions in one weight class. I remember the WBA had 4 champions in the Bantamweight and Featherweight divisions. WBC is notorious for stripping champions of their belts if the boxers are not Mexican or not popular.

The Ring Magazine and WBO, I believe are the best belts to have. IBF is quiet so it comes third place. IBO, IBA, and WBF at least only have one champions in their weight classes.
