It's funny, for most of that timeline the information about the negotiations is coming from Arum.

Didn't he say he was getting tired of people asking him about the fight so he spun a tale about negotiations and contracts? Come one now.

          B) Did Floyd and co ever explain why they all of a sudden 'weren't thinking about boxing' and didn't bother to enter into negotiations. How is that not a clear duck? Guys are ready to iron out a deal and you just say, '**** that, we takin a year or 2 off'.

          C) That timeline is incomplete, some missing details:

          Ross Greenburg:

          Before the timeline ran out:
"I can't talk about it," Greenburg told Newsday. "I'm right in the middle of shutting everyone down. We have to do it quietly. This cannot get into the papers. If it gets in the papers, all of a sudden, it takes on a life of its own like it did in December and January, and it becomes very difficult to make the fight. We all kind of shook hands and said, 'Let's keep quiet and do it out of the press and get it done.'

"We're going to try to make it happen. That's all I can say."

          -Ross Greenburg, HBO Sports President

          After Negotiations:
"Both times, the fight was very close to being made. And, the second time around, you know, all that I can say is that you would have to ask Floyd Mayweather why the fight wasn't made. To this day, I really don't know why Floyd decided that he didn't want the fight any more in the fall.

To this day, I don't know why he wanted to take some more time off. Only Floyd has that answer. I certainly don't have that answer. But, you know, it was very close. It was so, so, close. I think that it was so close that I don't think that it's going to take much to make the fight the third time around."

Schaefer, the Golden Boy CEO who has promoted Mayweather's last several fights, has been one of the chief game players if there really were no talks, because he absolutely made it seem clear that talks were going on, time and again. Why else would he talk about a so-called "gag order" in discussing negotiations publicly?

I'd ask him about it and he'd say stuff like, "Talking about the negotiations isn't going to help get the fight made, so I'm not going to talk about them." He'd also say, "Come on, stop asking me about the negotiations. You know I am not going to talk about them."

          -Dan Rafael, ESPN
          July 21, 2010

Team Mayweather after their cover was blown and they had to scramble for reasons they weren't fighting and going on 'vacation' instead. If you recall, not a single mention of drug testing/OST was made until this year (2011):

"I'm not really thinking about boxing right now," Mayweather said. "I'm just relaxing. I fought about 60 days ago, so I'm just enjoying myself, enjoying life, enjoying my family and enjoying my vacation."

“People should be smart enough to realize that he’s in the middle of legal proceedings. His focus and energy is on that, clearing his name, not on making a fight. That’s just common sense," Schaefer said.

“Anything else would be disrespectful to a judge or the legal system. … He could say, OK, let’s fight Pacquiao in May or whenever and make a deal. How would a judge feel about that? You just don’t do that.”

Fighting Manny with trials scheduled would be disrespectful to a judge and the legal system but taking on Ortiz with 4 cases pending AND skipping out on court-mandated depositions is perfectly respectful. LOL.

Instead, Mayweather Sr. suggested it was his son’s fear of Uncle Sam that’s preventing the biggest fight in boxing from taking place this year. “Make a million dollars in one year and see what Uncle Sam gonna do to you. So that’s what I’m talking about. Make $100 million in one year and see what Uncle Sam gonna do,” he would tell FightHype’s own Percy Crawford. “It would be like he ain’t never fought Shane. I’m telling you the real deal of how it is. That is the only reason they didn’t make the fight.

Can we stop with the revisionist history now? We're just going to get a repeat of that same bull**** come November 13th anyway. All we're going to hear about is how Floyd can't make a fight because of trials, taxes, vacations.

Can't wait. Oh, is Gary Coleman making a timeline for the South Africa negotiations?
Did you overlook the part where floyd said the 14 day cutoff window was off the table.

          JULY 6, 2010

          * Arum hints that Pacquiao has only agreed to the 14-day cut-off.

"We don't care who's doing the test. They stopped taking blood 18 days before [Mayweather-Mosley], so that shows they can do it and be fine," promoter Bob Arum would tell Lance Pugmire of the L.A. Times, hinting that Pacquiao's agreement to a 14-day cut-off should be sufficient for Mayweather considering that USADA took no additional tests 18 days prior to his bout with Mosley. As far as the random blood and urine tests are concerned, it's still unclear as to whether or not Pacquiao agreed to any terms other than a 14-day cut-off, but Arum continues to talk as if he hasn't. "If there's information that emerges in the final 14 days, we can go to the [state boxing] commission and ask for more tests. We can work it out. No one's looking to pull any fast ones," Arum added.

Also says here margarito was promised a fight before this fake time-line was created by Arum.

          JUNE 24, 2010

          * Rumors surface that Margarito has already been promised a bout with Pacquiao.

Sources reveal that despite rumors that Miguel Cotto may be in line for a rematch with Manny Pacquiao if a bout with Floyd Mayweather isn't made, Antonio Margarito was already been promised by his promoter, Bob Arum, that he's next in line for a shot at Pacquiao. Although this wasn't the first time that Margarito's name was mentioned as a potential opponent for Pacquiao, it is the first sign that Bob Arum already had a definitive opponent lined up for Pacquiao's November 13th date.

          JUNE 2, 2010

          * Mayweather reveals that he'll be taking the rest of 2010, and possibly 2011, off.

On June 2nd, Mayweather was spending time with Armando Carral, an 18-year-old with Hodgkin's Disease whose wish to meet the undefeated fighter was granted through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. While conducting a video interview during the event, Mayweather nonchalantly broke the news that he was taking the rest of the year off. "At this particular time, Floyd Mayweather is taking probably a year off, a couple of years off, from the sport of boxing. I don't really know what the future holds for Floyd Mayweather at this particular time, but, you know, I can probably take a couple of years off," he would explain to the reporter.
Floyd takes off a year after every big fight thats nothing new. he took a vaction after the JMM fight and you see the shane fight was still done. Leonard handles negotiations and ish. His vacation was not the reason the fight didn't happen. Your boy Pac still wanted cutoff dates. So if Negotiations did infact happen and both sides agreed to a gag order why did arum out of the blue create a timeline for team mayweather and put it in the media. he himself said these suppose negotiations were hush hush. 24/7 revealed they still wanted cutoff dates even after it was taken off the table. So the timeline was put in place to take the attention off pac still not agreeing to random blood and urine test.

if you're a real boxing fan you don't need these ****** timelines. i for one just don't have that sissy side in me to even spend time reading that sh/t. okay, it's all pac's fault. then what? fight is not happening. most peeps say floyd is holding up the fight.

where do you go from here?

I mean I don't even really know what to think of this situation any more. The amount of contradictory info that has come from both sides is absolutely shocking. Although it does seem Arum has been the worst for the most part.

Wait, here's a better question: How could they possibly have a serious response to links (from many publications) that are archived and destroy their debate?
Their thought process is beyond belief. Then again, using the word 'thought' is actually a stretch in this case.

Clearly, the kid is hurting. For some, it takes too much mind power to comprehend what you were able to translate in layman's terms.

is Michael Marley making a timeline soon, I'm sure that will be just as credible.
