When Pacquiao met Senator Reid and President *****, one of the things in his agenda was a passage of a bill in Nevada that expands drug testing.

BOXING _ SB498 authorizes Nevada Athletic Commission to expand drug testing programs using fee added to tickets.

This proves that Pacquiao's Congressman role has been put to good use. This is the first time in history that a boxer's active participation has contributed to the passing of a new law regarding drug testing. Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao!

The Law gets implemented beginning July 1, 2011.

Reid and *****, he wasn't lobbying for a damn thing and he absolutely no influence on politics in the United States. Reid was using him as a political prop for his reelection campaign to attract the small number of boxing fans in Nevada who are voters. First of all, Reid is a U.S. Senator, not a state senator. He has absolutely nothing to do with the laws passed by the state legislature and I am sure he doesn't give a damn either. ***** damn sure wouldn't waste his time involving himself with a drug testing bill for boxers and mixed martial artists in a state when he has two wars, the economy, the debt ceiling and numerous other national problems to deal with.

Secondly, Pacquaio would't support a bill calling for additional testing when he is refusing to take tests himself. You can argue all you want about Pac refusing to give in to Mayweather's demands, but Pac also refused to take the tests when Mosley suggested random drug tests for their fight. This bill, if it actually has passed, had more to do with all the publicity surrounding Mayweather's demand for random blood tests and Pac's refusal to take the tests.

Third, based on the information I read, all this bill does is require promoters to start paying the costs of the drug tests from their gate collections to the Nevada State Athletic Commisison. The commission was already conducting random urine tests. This bill simply requires promoters to start paying for those tests with the contributions from their gate revenue. It doesn't say anything about the commission conducting random blood tests on fighters and doesn't say this will result in more or better tests.

In other words, this is nothing new so stop trying to give Pacquaio credit for something he didn't have a damn thing to do with.

No, no it doesn't. The framework for the bill has been in place for over 3 years, the genesis being at the time wifebeater was 'retired'. Kizer has mentioned the $1 thing several times in the past, even tried to convince Floyd to add a $1 fee for every PPV sold for Mayweather-Mosley, which would've funded a random testing program for 5 years. For some reason, it didn't happen.

The commission authorized the use of random tests, but the program ran out of money so it was never utilized. Promoters are only required to pay a $0.50 fee for events that garner less than $500K.

Does it matter how it came about? Nevada now requires random testing, in and out of competition, for all combatants. All the PED experts should be dancing in the streets.
