I know this thread is about Chavez Jr and Martinez but if Jr is forced to fight Martinez and Arum finds a away to avoid it, it'll also offer credibility to the thought that PAC is a manufactured champion rather than the ATG.

Chavez will most likely give up his belt he's not going to face Sergio most likely Chavez will face Cotto vs Margarito winner who cares about these belts anyway their's so many it's pointless and the people who run them are corrupt

It's a reality. Arum will never allow Martinez to lay his hands on Chavez. Arum would demand Chavez Jr. to drop his title first. And Arum wouldn't allow Martinez to lay his hands on any of Arum's fighters either. Simply: Too danger to his men. Shame on you, Arum!

The Diamond Belt gives whoever possesses it the immediate right to face the holder of the legitimate world title belt. And that's what Martinez is trying to do. Personally, I think it's just a money-making scheme, but you can't deny that whoever holds a belt these days gets a certain amount of attention regardless of how valuable that belt may be. Needless to say, Sergio Martinez is going to pry that WBC middleweight championship belt from Chavez Jr.'s cold, lifeless hands.

it's also the best paycheck he can get in MW. i doubt the amount on the paycheck he would get from fighting either geale, pirog, barker, or mackin would be far apart from each other. a bout with chavez jr has the potential to fill an arena, provide good media coverage, and surely give him a nice payday.as a fan of his, i wish he'd go after the other belts and try to unify the division, win or lose. but it seems him and his camp are more concerned on getting paychecks for now, whether it's trying to score big names like chavez or cotto, or getting steady ones from hbo fighting whoever they approve of....hopefully 2012 is a better year for him.

There are only so many janitors, cab drivers and goatfarmers in the world. You can run Martinez, but you can't hide. You can't be the first, but you can be the next; 43 have tried and 43 have failed.
