Comments Thread For: Chavez vs Martinez Likely To Get Ordered in December

A middleweight fight between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Sergio Martinez will likely get ordered in December. The World Boxing Council will hold their annual convention in December, and WBC President Jose Sulaiman considers the convention as the right moment to order that fight for early 2012.

wow, so once you get a belt, you can go off and defend it against a nobody. that's what both wbc title holders are doing, so hopefully sulaiman sticks to his word on this mandatory bout in 2012. i really hope they strip chavez's belt if he decides to not face martinez. either way, in 2012, martinez better ****in go after the other belts.

Taylor and Abraham couldn't have come at a better time, the MW division was thiiiiiiiin. Wouldn't mind seeing any combination of those 2 with Martinez and Chavez. If the order doesn't come or Chavez decides to vacate or just ignore it, a fight with Taylor or Abraham would be a nice consolation IMO.

This fight wouldn't happen, not with Arum around anyway.. Chavez is almost on the milking level so I expect Arum to milk him too while telling dumb fans how Sergio Martinez turn down £8M to face Chavez.
