So he's bigger than an average WW but not huge for the weight class

Yes, he is. What was the catch weight for the Berto fight? 145 and he came in at 161. At 147 the guy is most likely gonna come in at 165 pounds. His body frame is way different from guys like Baldomir who look fat come fight night. He has the Clottey frame and Clottey is not a "average" ww.

read the articles an threads prior to the pac-cotto fight...the general consensus has always been that cotto's a big ww...clottey looks to be the same size as ortiz, maybe panda was a bit rash by calling him bigger than clottey but he doesnt seem any smaller to me

ortiz is bigger then clottey (he's about the same wideness as clottey & a bit taller then clottey) clottey is LARGELY regarded as being a big welterweight (maybe to only you he's not) ortiz is bigger then clottey which makes ortiz a large welterweight.........
