The amount mentioned here is too much, but if the authorities can sign the bill and pay for it then great.

this has nothing to do with anything but who was doing the interview? He said twice that Ward vs Martinez would be the second biggest fight in boxing after pac-floyd. lol no it's not, not even close. Amongst some of the hardcore fans maybe

The second most skilled boxer (most hated for no damn reason)in the sport sticking up for the most skilled boxer in the sport. If he beats Froch he'll start requiring it in every fight. Its funny how they are polar opposites Andre brought total sensibility to Floyd's OST rif. All they need is a Klitschko to back it and the rules will change.

all fighters have to do is go to the commission and ask them to change the rules. sign a petition and get the rules changed. fighters cant choose which fighters to take tests or not. that **** is not for them to decide.

what "commission?" There is no central commission in boxing so it really isn't that simple.

You have the WBA, WBO, IBF, WBC, etc., then you have the Nevada State Athletics Department, California Athletics Department, etc. etc. etc.

At best you can try and lobby to get Nevada to implement OSTs, and the rest will follow but that's no gaurantee.

Being that it's so expensive it obviously couldn't be for every fight, but only world championship fights or something like that. The Athletics department could add in something really simple and cheap, which would be a random blood test at any time of the year for all fighters (fighters would be randomly selected, obviously wouldn't be possible to test all fighters ), ***** like that.

Someone posted recently that Ward turned down extra testing for the Abraham fight.

I don't recall hearing anything about that at the time, is it true? Anyone have anymore info?

thanks for sharing. man, that is expensive for testing. no wonder it hasn't been pushed more. it'd be great to have in the sport, but idk, that's a lot of money, especially for every bout, damn.
ward/martinez would be dope if martinez would move up to 168, or like they said, a catchweight. we'll see what happens. like ward said, there's still bute and possibly kessler after the SS. and martinez has a handful of possible MW opponents too..

The problem is, how are you going to fund drug testing in title fights where both boxers are making very little?

If random drug testing isn't going to be installed across the board, then it isn't worth doing.

This decision needs to come from the top and not from the mouths of Ward or Mayweather. Yes they are right to flag up the issue, but the problem is a regulatory one, and thus needs to be resolved by the governing bodies and the relevant boxing boards and commissions.

it's nice if fighters can organize themselves...a fighters union or something. it's easier to implement changes if they have an organization.
