Even the UK commentators didn't think Macklin won.

I´m from Germany, and THIS was a robbery... especially considering the margin of the two scorecards for Sturm. This is just bad for Germany´s reputation as a host country.
I wasn´t biased going into this fight because I liked and like the possibility of Sturm facing Martinez, but I also have a tendency to root for the "underdog"... and what can I say, as a non-biased German viewer, Macklin definitely convinced me over the course of the whole fight that he wanted this title more.
He outworked Sturm ( and didn´t slow down towards the end ), constantly worked the body, landed hooks around Sturms defense time and again, and, most importantly, EVERY TIME Sturm seemed to gain momentum, Macklin came back with a response. He deserved this title, Sturm said they agreed to a rematch right after the fight, but Sturm is more likely to win that, having time to work on his errors and adjust to Macklin´s style...
Sorry for all you fight fans outside Germany, this just sucks. On the upside, just be happy you didn´t have to see this on German television... the coverage and commentating here is just apocalyptically ****ty, biased and the commentators have no clue about boxing... like two of the judges tonight, hahaha...
Looking forward to Martinez blasting through Chavez Jr., if Arum lets it happen... and then taking on Sturm/ Macklin...
Cheers guys

It was a toss up by very predictable German decision
It's obvious tho that people are upset not at the fact that sturm won but that he won 8 rounds on those 2 score cards
It wasn't a robbery
