Sturm vs Macklin. RBR and discussion

Mac's punches lost a lot of steam in the last half of the fight though. Sturm looked like a lobster after the second round lol.

No question Sturm was more precise and he caught a lot in his guard.

Couple close rounds, sure. No way Sturm won eight. None.

Seriously, David Haye needs to take notes. He's already down at least three rounds.

I had Kotelnik clearly winning the Alexander fight.

Macklin landed FAR more than Alexander did. and Sturm just wasnt active enough, although he certainly won a fair amount of rounds with his cleaner punching.

do you think Sturm's reddened right side and busted up face came stricty from 'arm punches'....? come on man.

after rd 11 the Sky channel showed the punch stats as 139-131 for Macklin and no doubt Sturm landed the cleaner harder shots throughout the fight. Perhaps you needs to pay attention to what actually lands

I gave it to Sturm by a round, but it was a very close fight. Macklin dominated early and Sturm rallied late. The two judges who had it 116-112 got it very wrong. No way should the decision have gone to either fighter by more than two rounds. Really good effort by Macklin, but he just didn't quite have the power in his shots to grind down Sturm enough.

Martinez is going to destroy Sturm if they ever fight. There is no way that Sturm can live with the athleticism of Martinez if he can get beaten to the punch for a lot of a fight by Macklin.

Umm 116-113 IS 2 ROUNDS, 115-114 is 1 ROUND.

Why are people so suprised? Look at the punch stats, I would bet money that Sturm landed MORE PUNCHES in this fight, not only that but he landed the harder ones. People are amazed at combos that dont do anything (like devon).

Dude out-landed Macklin and hit him harder.

Anyone got punch stats? at rd 10-11 sky said Sturm landed only like 7-8 punches less and he owned him in the 12th.

You guys need to learn how to score a fight, If you count Air Punches and Wild Combos then Devon Alexander will be P4P #1 Fighter.

You don't win by taking so many shots and not answering back. There were some closer rounds at the end but Macklin won that.

I didn't expect any less from ze germans.

lol at punch stats. those are just people just on the sidelines counting themselves you know.

the idea that Macklin only landed 139 punches is unbelievably absolutely laghable. just watch the fight, its not hard to see Macklin's glvoes landing on Sturm's face and body...

its like you guys dont count the punches if they also happen to tough arms or gloves. those punches are still landing and scoring, even if theyre not completely clean.

Sturm winning is not a robbery but having him win 8 out of 12 rounds is de****able.

edit: Also I missed the first five rounds, but from round 6 on I had rounds 6, 10, and 12 for Sturm. Macklin took the rest. It sounds like Sturm took one of the first fight, maybe 2. That would be 116-112, 115-113 on my card.

My card was Sturm by 2 rounds, Sturm landed the more hard and hurtful shots while Macklin hit a lot of arms and gloves, no robbery but it was a close fight and i want to see a rematch.

Before the fight i didn't think Macklin would do well so he has changed my opinion of him.
