What is the question, could he pace himself correctly and fight 15 rounds?

    Of course he could.

Against Guinn, he could have fought 15 rounds, and so could have guinn.

Are you asking if he could carry his KO power into those later rounds?

As a heavyweight, he does not have KO power, so he is content to win on points, and he consistently does more than his opponent every round.

I will go out on a limb and say that Toney would have won rounds 13, 14 & 15 against Guinn.

Toney always remains relaxed during a fight. He doesn't throw away energy with needless footwork or wasted punches either. I think he would do alright going 15 rounds against the opposition he's faced so far at HW, though he'd have to pace himself accordingly.

Thrust him into the 1970's though, or even the 1990's, and he'd be a goner. I think he has a rare assortment of skills that we should appreciate as fans, but he is NOT a natural heavyweight.

Archie Moore had incredible skills (worthy of P4P great status), and was physically stronger and more powerful than Toney as well. Look at how he fared against the big guys. The difference is, Toney hasn't gotten into the ring with a Marciano, Patterson, or Muhammad Ali. He is fighting heavyweights who are absolutely mediocre.

The best big man he fought was John Ruiz, who he hit flush with over 60% of his punches and still failed to stop. He doesn't have the power. Guys who are 5'9" and modest punchers rarely have much success at heavyweight regardless of their skills. Toney owes most of his success since Jirov to the weakness of the division he's fighting in and good matchmaking.

Put him in with a guy like Peter even, who's limited but also very talented and durable, and I guarantee you he gets squashed.

You're speaking about your opinion like it's fact.

The only facts are: Toney IS fighting at Heavyweight and IS difinitvly a top 5 Heavyweight.

I'd like to see someone like you go up to him and tell him he's not a Heavyweight.

If you fight viably at Heavyweight and win fights, you're a Heavyweight.

If Toney didn't have a punch at Heavyweight, he wouldn't have brutally beaten down and stopped Evander Holyfield. Yes Holy was old, but he was beaten brutally and stopped.

And your example about the Ruiz fight is a horrid example.

Toney's left arm was injured, and he had five weeks of training coming down from almost 300lbs, and he easilly delt with Ruiz.

Toney IS a Heavyweight, and a credible TOP heavyweight at present. This is on top of his Hall of Fame career, IE, all gravy at this point.

But your also forgeting the heavyweights of yester year were light heavyweights and cruiserweights in size! now toney is in the land of the giants! guys are weighing in at 235 and 265! and are over 6 feet 3 inches tall! Toney is very impressive I hope the fight wiht wladimir goes down.

I dont see why he could not go 15 rounds. The guy gets tougher as the damn fight goes on.

it depends on what kinda of fighter he is fighting, someone liek jirov wouldnt make toney be able to last a 15 round fight but im sure now he could if he fought someone liek ruiz or guinn

First off, yes, Toney could last 15 rounds, and more so, excell in them.

                Better question:

Could any other heavyweights in the division last 15 rounds?

                  Bozo,

That's incredibly lame hitting me with bad karma for expressing my opinion. It'd be one thing if I were openly flaming you or posting offensive content but you really go out of your way to annoy people, don't you?

When you click karma, it asks if you approve or disaprove.

I really thought it was a poor take.

Sorry for using that feature for what it's actually for.
