SERIOUS question: Could James Toney fight in a 15 round fight?

We know how Fat he looks and this and that. But the man is old school. He has great technique and superior defense. Do you guys think he could last in a 15 round fight at this point in his career and with the body he has? Im just amazed at how badly this guys body could look yet he looks great in the ring. Im telling you guys this guy was a born fighter

Like Hopkins, he's disciplined...It's often the fighters who stick to the technical stuff who are disciplined like that. The fighters who aren't born with out of this world speed or power, they just know what they have to do to win and destroy their opponent.
He fights relaxed and doesn't overwork himself.....so yeah, he could do a 15 rounder.

good point. I think the reason why he can last is hes so relaxed. I never see him nervous or tense in a fight

        Without a doubt.

Toney has always been at his best in rounds 9 - 12.

13-15 would be great for him.

James Toney is a Special fighter! you dont see guys with his size and weight with that quick hands and defense, the guy is trully a natural and he has so much talent it is ridiculous even at his age he 37 he put up a better fight then roy jones did last night, this guy can roll with punches and his inside game is ridiculous!

of course he can go 15 rounds the guy doesnt run around the ring.

He's a differnet style of fighter. Toney and Hopkins are the type of fighters who are much more viable at an older age.

Why must you spread you baised hating into threads where it's off topic?

And would you care to back that up with any kind of reasoning that would illustrate you even gave it some thought?

37 year old Toney at 235 was throwing punches last night in round 12 like he was as fresh as could be. And this was on top of fighting a high paced fight inside a phone booth with a bigger and stronger guy.

How does this lead you to believe he'd fold if the fight had have gone a few more rounds when he looked very strong in 10 -12 (like he always does)?

Toney is built to fight 15 rounds. There are only a few of these fighters around (Hopkins, Pacquiao, maybe Morales).

Think about the Jirov fight. Toney still had a good amount of energy left and Jirov would have been stopped in the 13th had it been a 15 round fight.

The entire dynamic of the fight game changes when the fight is scheduled for 15 rounds.

Toney is an amazing boxer. For seeming very immature at times(post fight events and amount of trash talking before a fight), he always sticks to a plan and backs up his words and talk. It's watching a man using his best craft at work in his fights. I'd say he definitely seems like he could be a 15 round fighter. Someone mentioned Pacquiao as well as could be a 15 round fighter. I doubt this after his many last fights. He's been seemingly dead tired after the amount of bombs he throws. The only fight he seemed that way was vs Barrera cause of his excellent, amazing conditioning he went through for that fight. Heck even in the 11th he did seem a tad tired. Pulling out just enough energy to keep Barrera on the ropes for that final flurry. Vs Morales he went dead tired in the 12th as well vs Marquez. Not too many 15 round fighters these days, period.
