you can say ortiz was young and inexperienced in terms of hard fights when he quit against maidana, but i'm just gonna say he was mentally weak. he showed he has changed somewhat in the berto fight, i really think ortiz has grown mentally, but that still sort of remains to be seen, after all it was just one fight against an overrated fighter. we'll see what happens when khan moves up to WW though.

Not sure if Khan could have done a better job than what ortiz did against Berto in his first fight at 147.

And yes ortiz is still easy to it, moving to 147 and having just one great fight there isnt going to change that but we shall see how he fares against Mayweather, sometimes a move up can do you a world of good...Cotto benefitted from moving to 147 after he stayed at 140 far too long..

I agree with this post, imo Ortiz get's his feathers ruffled by Bradley and Khan..I would give a fight with Bradley Ortiz 60/40 split Bradley's favor..A fight between Khan and Ortiz 55/45 Khan's favor(Khan does have that chin problem)..But I think both would pull away from Ortiz,I have to say I really felt Ortiz was out boxed by Peterson who was clearly dominated by Bradley...And we all know what happen with Maidana,if you exchange with Ortiz you can discourage him and out box him..He can not fight off the back foot...

Cotto always had skill tho, although moving up help Cotto a lot,did he ever lose to a lesser fighter at 140lb??Cotto although his chin was not the best at the weight he fell back on his technique...Ortiz is a bull rusher plain and simple..Not a style that's gonna help against a skilled boxer imo..

The fight is at welterweight, and Ortiz is the most accomplished welter of the three. Khan and Bradley may go on to prove themselves better than Ortiz, but, right here and now, Ortiz is the more worthy contender.

Bradley and Khan are better fighters than Ortiz. At 140 or at 147 I wouldn't hesitate to pick Bradley or Khan to beat Ortiz. They're just better fighters.

Yes Ortiz is getting a little overrated and overhyped because he beat an OK fighter at best, and because Floyd picked him to fight.

However, this is the best fight that can be made at WW right now that doesn't involve Pacquiao. There's no other WW's who deserve a shot more so than Ortiz.

Bradley nor Khan are WWs just yet.

                Floyd-Ortiz is legit.

While I agree with everything, I think Ortiz is a harder fight for Floyd than Khan would be.

Khan is leagues above Bradley and Ortiz. Those guys would all get stopped by Khan.

Khan would have a good shot at beating Mayweather. If an old De La Hoya can jab Mayweather at will, Khan will have no trouble doing so. Mayweather will not be able to cope with Khans speed. Roach has come out and said that he thinks Khan would beat Mayweather.

Stylistically he might be. I won't argue that.

But, I think Khan in a H2H match up would beat Ortiz. I just think he's the better fighter.

But, styles make fights. So Ortiz might match up better with Floyd sure.

But, I really don't think much of Ortiz. I didn't think much of Berto either. However, I felt Pac should have fought Berto over a shot to pieces Mosley.

And, after Ortiz won, I felt that either Floyd or Pac should have fought Ortiz. Because, Ortiz was the most legit WW out there after that victory.

And, is not because Ortiz is so damn good. But, it's the WW division is so bad. I mean who else is there? Clottey? When was the last time he has won a fight? Zaveck? Senchenko? C'mon...I do like Mike Jones, but he hasn't really done anything to deserve such a shot. So it makes Ortiz the obvious choice. So props to Floyd for picking Ortiz.
