Gomez is a good step for Alvarez. Perfect fight for Floyd v Ortiz undercard.

Mayorga definitely has a name that would hype up the PPV. Guess they figure they don't really need 2 spend that kinda money 2 have a successful PPV. Ortiz's first time on PPV it will be interesting to see PPV buys 4 this one.

Alfonso Gomez? You've got to be kidding. Fights like this don't make careers, they ruin careers. How does beating up Gomez do anything for Canelo at all?

          Gomez isn't even a has-been, he's a never-was.

Vanes' resume is 100X stronger than Canelo's... (ouma, Greene, Tsurkan, Roman all legit 154's vs one legit 154 in Rhodes who any of the four named for vanes would beat)

Gomez huh.... do you realize he fights at 140 and 147... if he wants recognizable names why doesnt he fight a legit 154 like Trout, after all Trout did walk into his hometown and beat the **** out of his brother... or how bout a Lara, hes pretty recognizable isnt he? the bottom line is golden boy is protecting him against bums and lightweights and i have no problem with that... eventually he will either have to vacate or face his mandatory...
            LOL... this guy ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

who hasn't beat roman?....what makes things worst is that Vanes got Knocked down and left with a MESSED UP, F-UP, and Bruised UP face.

If anything....Vanes should step up in competition and fight those dudes you just mentioned in Lara and Trout. Props to both of those fighters.

-no props to vanes yet- he's boo boo

Vanes needs to prove himself before having the HONOR to get in the ring with Saul Alvarez.

            LOL . . . . Vanes!

Hahahaha I agree with W Blake. Gomez is a never was. When is this guy going to finally fight some one other than bums. Wins dont make a career unless they come against top opposition. I'm disgusted with Canelo and Chavez jr. Sulaiman are you going to hand Omar Chavez a free belt too? I bet your are you corrupt POS.

rhodes is a better opponent than roman imo. neither are great (at least the version of rhodes saul fought), let's be honest. but i do think this fight should happen. both are young and not that experienced, whoever loses has no excuse because both guys are basically on the same level (albeit vanes is 5 years older). i do think though, both guys need to fight good opposition next if they don't face each other. wolak, dzinziruk, konecny, k9, lara, even mayorga, should all be considered for their next opponents.

Richard your an idiot bro you keep posting the same dumb stuff but its cool man you can keep hating on someone doing good I dont think Canelo thinks much of it anyways. Eventually Vanes and Canelo will fight then people are going to have another fantasy fight lined up in their mind for Canelo to fight after he wins. And if he doesnt meet their expectations hes going to be called a ducker.

PR Boy give it a rest lol out on his feet? Na I believe that was Cotto in Rd 9
