I hate to see prospects rushed too quickly. He's so young and still improving so needs to be developed at the right way. At the same time, I also hate to see champions fight easy competition. Still, it's not as if Trout, K9 and Cotto have fought a murderer's row of opposition recently so I don't think people should be so hard on him.

Vanes has yet to beat anyone notable, and while he may want the fight I'm not convinced that Roach and Arum do. Hopefully it happens this year because I like that Vanes seems to want the fight more than the rest of the division does.

Although Gomez doesn't deserve a title shot, I liked his level of focus in his previous fight, and I'd rather see him in the ring with Canelo than Mayorga. El Matador already lost his steam, I have no doubt that Canelo will drop him. When was the last time Mayorga saw the final bell? There HAS to be better competition out there than Mayorga.
