Question about the PED accusations against Pacquiao...

I know this has been said before but...

If the boxing commissions and the powers that be don't require OSDT then why is there an entire cult of people backing Floyd on his demands?

Boxers box. Trainers train. Commissions run ****. The end.

Does it make sense to go out of your way to satisfy the wants of your opponent when its not mandatory?

Sure people can point to the "excuses" about needles and Manny's alleged head growth but Pacquiao's camp can make up as many excuses as they want as for reasons why not to take the tests because they don't have to.

    Also, flip the coin.

If Pacquiao's camp for some reason pulled this on Floyd and demanded OSDT from him out of the blue do you think Floyd would comply? No, for the sake of going against the grain and not wanting to ease the mind of his opponent Floyd would argue the same.

He would say, "I've always tested clean and I take the tests required by the commission, lifestyle flashy".

The argument coming from the Mayweather camp and his cult following is a bit ridiculous.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Who is anyone to say that you literally CAN'T peak in your later years?

But people take the word of Roger or Floyd Sr. as gospel and that's that.

Kind of sad what boxing has come to really.

People who fight for a living avoiding opponents because their daddy got it in their head that they might lose their undefeated streak to a "cheater".

    Boo on that.

That's so naive. I'm mostly on Pacquiao's side on this issue but if fighters just let commissions run things, the sport never would have evolved past the mafia. Boxing would be pro wrestling if fighters didn't take stands and demand things. There wouldn't be drug testing at all if not for fighters.

People gonna ride either Floyd or Pac's nuts hard no matter the circumstances. My issue is Floyd's never tested anyone prior to Pacquiao, yet he's such a "beatable" guy. Steroids / HGH don't win you fights as been proven in the past. Hell, it would be a bigger look if Floyd beat Pacquiao and he came up positive anyway, just like Vargas did with Oscar. It's lame already. People argue everyday about the same **** like anything has changed. They're not fighting and their fans are going to side with their fighter. The end.

            ^ Good point.

Floyd never demanded this of anyone prior to his dad opening his mouth.

So somewhere in Floyd's head he is a beaten man already.

And yes Floyd's super human skills should allow him to beat Pacquiao whether he uses PED or not.

I hope nobody here thinks that I think Floyd is a garbage boxer.

            Dude is amazing.

But his camp isn't doing him any favors.

If anything he should let Pacquiao slide on the tests, beat him, and then say - "I beat a dude who was probably on PED's."

Then he wins twice, in his own head atleast.

Boxers also get hit in the head for a living, The have the right to know that their opponent is clean if they want to, there is no negative about better testing for any fight or any competitive sport, Anyone against that is just an idiot..

Tis post makes no sense. The fact is that the testing used by Nevada and other boxing commissions has proven to be inadequate given the number of fighters who have been able to beat tests.

Major professional sports leagues and the Olympics utilize a higher standard of testing (blood vs urine) and do so randomly because it makes it more difficult for athletes to use PED's.

As for innocent until proven guilty that is the standard for criminal justice. In real life, athletes who we believe are clean, (ex. Derek Jeter, Kobe Bryant, Tom Brady) take the same tests as those we think may be cheating or have been proven to cheat (ARod, OJ MAyo, Brian Cushing).

Both fighters would be subjected to the same random testing so its fair and equal. A question for you, why would a congressman not want to subject him or herself to the BEST PED testing available?
