I'm not thinking as a Manny fan, I'm thinking as a person with common sense. A lot of journeymen and up and coming boxers can't afford to pay for testing because they don't even make $200-$600. You say Floyd is not in control of Boxing, but he DOES have the ability to affect it the way he says he wants... so... why not do it?

He counts 5 years worth of Universal testing (in Nevada) as a youtube hobby. With the money he spends on ***elry and ********, he could finance a nationwide testing program for at least a decade.
Question......Pricing was never a issue with OST between Manny vs Floyd, but in other-words, how can Floyd change the whole sport when he can't even make MANNY take OST??

So how can he control other weightclasses, other trainers, hundreds of boxers, I mean, Floyd just doesn't have the power to effect the sport like that.

Yup, exactly what this thread is suggesting. The man himself said he wants to change the sport, wants to ensure everyone is equal, and wants to protect up and coming fighters. Even likened himself to MLK and Malcolm X.

Maybe my history is shady, but I don't think MLK's idea of changing America and attaining equality equaled him going on vacation and his driver printing out 'Give us Civil Rights' t-shirts

If this is really about changing the sport as he claims, then a miniscule portion of his PPV buys or usual ******** would go a LONG way towards achieving his goal.

I mean, $50-$65 million was not enough to persuade him to go against his principles... so why is $1 per PPV buy an issue?

He should pay with his own money for everything and everybody?

      WTF?
Yes. Don't see why that's so 'WTF?' worthy

What's wrong with him and the opponent paying for the fight? I mean that's how the original drug test started.
So basically 'changing sports' and making sure 'everyone is equal' only applies to Floyd Mayweather fights or only those who can afford it?

      Shameful

Tyson-Holyfield is a perfect example on how to get better testing.
The commissions can't sustain the costs of Floyd's testing, so no, no it's not a perfect example.

Nobody ever suggested that Tyson should go into his own pocket and pay for every fighter piss test. Because, that would have been just ridiculous.
Tyson never said he wanted to change the sport as a whole, never likened his push for Holyfield testing to a civil rights struggle. That could be a reason why.

Don't see why Floyd changing the sport and evening the playing field like he claims he wants to do is 'ridiculous'

You're obviously stuck in the whole *****-******* bull****, it's not about that. If Floyd finances the testing, the commission(s) would make testing for ALL boxers MANDATORY. This isn't about one fantasy fight, this is about the sport.

So how can he control other weightclasses, other trainers, hundreds of boxers, I mean, Floyd just doesn't have the power to effect the sport like that.
Wouldn't be up to him, he would just be the bankroll. USADA or whoever is commissioned to oversee testing would deal with the details. I'm not saying Floyd would become a boxing commissioner, he'd just be a benefactor making sure ALL Boxers in at least Nevada would have access to the testing that has become his crusade.

So far Floyd is the only boxer that's asking for OST for the entire sport. You can't compare that to the civil rights issue, because those guys had MILLIONS standing behind them.
Well Floyd might be technically the only fighter that ask for it. But, Saurland promotion has this test for all their promoted events.

Anyways, The Prince either really believe this is what should happen. Which would make him an F'ing moron. Or he knows how ludicrous this is and is just trolling.

Ummm, I didn't suggest it... the head of the Nevada State Athletic Commission suggested it, I just reiterated it.

Agreed. Basically Floyd is being asked to babysit boxers around the world, or atlest support them.
