    _______________________________________________
    115 111

I thought both pt deductions were BS, the ref did a terrible job and was too involved. Both fighters were fighting a little rough in there but not so much it should have been a pt deduction.

Also, Mayweather gives ZERO props to anyone he fights, not one good thing to say about Castillo and of course the rotator cuff came as an excuse. I always laugh when fighters say "I don't give excuses" then go on to immediately mention the excuse...hahaha

The judges had it 115 - 11, 115 - 11 and 116 - 111 for Mayweather? Good God what where they watching. All the commentators and Letterman had Castillo winning the fight. Mayweather got a home town decision.

Mayweather has excellent defense but in reality after the 8th, he really wasn't throwing anything with effectiveness on Castillo. He was in running mode and other than a few shots here and there, he was holding, hitting, running and not being very effective with anything.

I will admit Castillo was missing a lot but at least he was pushing the fight and forcing Mayweather to fight more than he wanted to.

I wouldn't say complete robbery but I saw Castillo carry this fight to a UD win.
Off the top of my head, in the post fight interviews for these fights, he praised his opponent:

    Gatti
    Judah
    Mosley
    Corrales
    Hatton

Just saying, just cause some one does something once, you shouldn't go around saying they always do it.

      I had Castillo winning the fight easily, anyone who says otherwise is just a one of following;

      1. Mayweather Stans
      2. Black
      3. Dumb
      4. All of the above

to be honest, its kind of hard to see how someone would score the fight for Mayweather. Castillo piled on body punches, and those definitely count.(when they land of course).

but, it was close enough that I guess it wasnt a robbery. I really cant see how you could make it a Floyd win, but a draw is not out of the question.

this has a pretty indepth look into the fight, where they break down each round punch by punch to score. not saying you should let it judge for you, but its worth a look

I watch the fight last night, I really hope Ortiz doesn't reference it for a game plan, Jr. is a completely different fighter today.

I scored the fight to Floyd by a point.

The score-cards were completely laughable, there is no way in the world that the fight was won by a wide margin. I don't like the term 'robbery' either, it was far from that. It was a very close fight with many close rounds, it wouldn't have been a robbery if either guy had won by a point.

Well although this fight is 10 years old, and every year there's 5 threads titled "Just watched/re watched Mayweather-Castillo"m it does matter. Because it's the closest thing you'll ever see to Floyd losing. Yeah although Floyd has changed slightly, he's not a dramatically different fighter from 2001. Maybe he's worst now because he's not as light and as fast. So this fight could serve as a blueprint to beat Floyd, by going to the body. So it does matter.

Now the difference between the Floyd in the first Castillo fight from the 2nd Castillo fight, suggests to me that Floyd probably took Castillo lightly. Because the second fight was a totally different fight from the 1st one, in which Mayweather handled Castillo pretty easily, despite the closer scores.

With that said, you'll never see me making threads about "Just watched Marquez-Pacquiao I & II and I thought Pacquiao lost", not a shot at TS, just the other obsessed Floyd haters bringing up a fight from 10 years ago where Floyd almost lost, why they bring it up, I don't know, obsession. But yes the fight does matter if you're a boxer looking for a gameplan, if you're just a fan bringing it up again and again like in Boxingscene, for no good reason, it's ******. Nobody can just bump an old Mayweather-Castillo thread in which the OP cliams Castillo won, they need their own thread.

This is my whole point. Castillo was not landing many clean punches. Many were missed or were blocked. Castillo made floyd dig deep and fight a different way. Props to Castillo but IMO that is not winning the fight. Thats why I called him the "best loser".
First off, Castillo was the champ, Floyd didn't do nearly enough to take the title from Castillo. Second, I admit Castillo was missing a lot but he was still out landing Floyd with the more effective punches. I mean, after the 8th, Floyd was on his bicycle waiting for each round to be over. He did NOTHING of significance against Castillo in those later rounds.

I will have to check those but to be honest, I can't remember ever hearing Floyd be humble in winning, it's just not just his style. I'm not saying your wrong, I take your word for it but this is the reason Floyd gets so much heat for his **** talking because there's always something.....
