I've been boxing for 7 years, but regardless of what you think, it only makes me more critical of fights and fighters. Never before have I been so frustrated as last night with the Byrd fight. No reason for such inactivity throughout 12 rounds.

CHRISIS...You hit it right on the head! EXACTLY. I have been saying this for years. Most so called FANS on the internet are the fans that can be best described as fair weather fans and yes they are some of the most disresepctful i have come across.

John, you must be kidding. On this board there is no such thing as a fair weather fan. They are, almost to a boy, nuthuggers who always find reasons why it's not "their" fighter's fault that they lost.
On the flipside, there are the haters who never give the fighter they despise credit for anything.

Your post has little merit to me because your basically crying about your fighter, who cares if we havent been in a ring, we pay for showtime/hbo/ppv's/espn on cable. We can say what we want, even JUYJUY who says the most asnine **** in the world about certain fighters, has every right to come on and say what he wants about RJJ because its his right, just as we have every right to cut him down for sayin what he says.

The point is, if you dont like it here, get the **** out and accept that nobody likes byrd, his style or anything else. If you dont like the internet, unplug your ****, cancel your service and get off it.

Are you Chris Byrd? If you are, what hell happened Saturday night? Actually, I know what DIDN'T happen - a fight didn't happen.

And there are many. These people talk alot of trash and disrespect and degrade fighters but they themselves have never been in a ring, nor would have the guts to get into the ring ever. Most of these people are unattractive, unathletic, wannabe tough guys and they basically have a boring, pathetic life. Here are some things that I've discovered about these keyboard warriors.

1. They post about boxing everyday, and its something that they just live to do.
2. They have pictures of their favorite fighters punishing and hurting other fighters.
3.They start threads like, "Tarver Sucks, or Chris Byrd is a **itch."
4. They talk about fights or events they have never even seen.
5. They often try to pick fights with other posters because they are insecure about themselves and their place in life.

Well you get the picture, and I'm sure you all have read posts from these internet bullies.

Why should a fighter get respect for stepping inside the ropes, it's more dangerous on the street then it is in the ring...Fighters are like every other athlete, you have to put it down if you are to be respected...and not too many fighters have put it down lately...With all this title protecting instead of title defending and lack luster performances will give the purest fan a bad taste about boxing and the boxers who engage in the sport...Besides that you can ask ten different people about various boxers and other athletes, and unless you bring up teh name michael jordan atleast 5 are going to say they suck...

Steward won the 1963 US Golden Gloves.

Frank Warren knows a heck of a lot about the business of boxing having been in the game for 30 years, but his actual boxing knowledge leaves a lot to be desired.
