  • You can always tell the keyboard warriors who've never been in a ring

    And there are many. These people talk alot of trash and disrespect and degrade fighters but they themselves have never been in a ring, nor would have the guts to get into the ring ever. Most of these people are unattractive, unathletic, wannabe tough guys and they basically have a boring, pathetic life. Here are some things that I've discovered about these keyboard warriors.

    1. They post about boxing everyday, and its something that they just live to do.
    2. They have pictures of their favorite fighters punishing and hurting other fighters.
    3.They start threads like, "Tarver Sucks, or Chris Byrd is a **itch."
    4. They talk about fights or events they have never even seen.
    5. They often try to pick fights with other posters because they are insecure about themselves and their place in life.

    Well you get the picture, and I'm sure you all have read posts from these internet bullies.

    Good post. I was going to start a thread about last night's fights, but figured I'd better take ten head shots before I do.

      I ain't sayin you gotta be a fighter to talk about fights, all I'm sayin is your level of respect goes up when you've been in the ring. Even if you have never been in the ring you can still show respect, although most do not.

      However the degrading of fighters and the disrespect you may have for them for whatever reason, is lessened when you have taken ten head shots.

        Degradation and disrespect are relative things. I give what I feel are honest analyses of fights/fighters. Sometimes people may take them as harsh, but I'm just one of many here with opinions.

        There are things about some fighters that bother me, like RJJ's jumping to a division with no competition so he could be an unbeatable champion. Like Chris Byrd (and other fighters) going on about Jesus and how he's on their side. I've read the words of Jesus, and somehow I have trouble picturing him as a huge fan of brutal bloodsports.

                Promising start to the thread that went south rapidly.

                I just made the same point in a different thread. Fans are the same as everybody. Some are respectful. Some are funny. Many are shmucks. All are entitled to their opinions. Even 'The Pretender' hilarious though they are.

                    =====================================

                    Jesus came from a working class family and from most accounts was strong man more than capable of handling himself as he proved in tearing up the money changers at the Temple. He would watch and understand boxing at the elemental level as most boys do who have been in some childhood sc****s. He'd preach to the crowd and go after the promoters and officials. Might even be talked into giving a training exhibition!

                    As to the main thread, well, yeah, lots of loudmouthed two bit punks on this board who couldn't fight their way out of their playstations. Many fighters are trashtalkers in the worst way who insult their craft and peers by their actions, so it's not just the keyboard warriors. Tyson and Toney come to mind. Other fighters don't show up in shape and quit without trying and deserve some criticism, but then again they're in a crooked sport.

                    It's not just boxing that these punks show up at. Any sport. Should have seen some of the parents in my son's soccer league!
