Oh Yeah, a very good advice on how to get rid of hat to a fighter. Start boxing. It is 1 hell of a sport. And it will make you respect ANY fighter.

Most of these people are unattractive, unathletic, wannabe tough guys and they basically have a boring, pathetic life. Here are some things that I've discovered about these keyboard warriors.
1. They post about boxing everyday, and its something that they just live to do.
2. They have pictures of their favorite fighters punishing and hurting other fighters.
3.They start threads like, "Tarver Sucks, or Chris Byrd is a **itch."
4. They talk about fights or events they have never even seen.
5. They often try to pick fights with other posters because they are insecure about themselves and their place in life.
Well you get the picture, and I'm sure you all have read posts from these internet bullies.

CHRISIS...You hit it right on the head! EXACTLY. I have been saying this for years. Most so called FANS on the internet are the fans that can be best described as fair weather fans and yes they are some of the most disresepctful i have come across.

You must not have a conversation with the average fan. Whats said on here isnt restricted to the internet, its the general buzz around Chris Byrd period. You can blame the internet all you want for these comments, but ask anyone whos seen chris byrd and this is what they will say. Hes a boring fighter who has an awful style for TV, ive never met anyone that actually said they liked him. The internet is a small representation of actual fans, in general, people are fairweather fans regardless, but it doesnt matter, you put on a ****ty show, you get a ****ty reception, i dont give a **** if youve been fighting for 20 years or whatever, when you look like ****, your fans will treat you like ****.

You know the biggest problem with this post is that you act like your coming here to have intelligent conversation with knowledgable genius'. If you havent noticed, from one "expert" to the next, hardly anyone ever agrees with each other when it comes to boxing.
You chastise people who come here and post about boxing everyday as if it were a bad thing, this is probably the one place where people are talking BOXING all the time, not NFL, not the NBA but BOXING, so wanting to talk about it with other fans is always something everyone enjoys, its the purpose of the board, and if people didint ****in post everyday, then the board would suck ass.
Having a picture of one fighter punishing another fighter is just capturing a moment of triumph, i painted Floyd Mayweather landing a counter left on Arturo Gatti for a painting project for school, it doesnt make me any less of a fan, or a man, for celebrating a career defining victory. Boxing is about rivalries and punishing your opponent, and when you deliver this to a hated rival the fans love it, get over it, your boy chris couldnt even dream of knocking anyone out at this point, so i can see why you dont relate.
"They talk about fights or events that they have never been"
What the **** does this mean..? Ive attended one fight my whole life, what the **** is the big deal? Have you been to every chris byrd fight? If not, only talk about the ones you went to.
Picking fights with other posters is the nature of the internet, and most of the time its funny when people cry, ill admit im not into mudslinging, but after about 12 years of posting on messageboards, its a given that drawn out off topic fights are bound to happen, if you dont like this, dont post on the internet.
Your post has little merit to me because your basically crying about your fighter, who cares if we havent been in a ring, we pay for showtime/hbo/ppv's/espn on cable. We can say what we want, even JUYJUY who says the most asnine **** in the world about certain fighters, has every right to come on and say what he wants about RJJ because its his right, just as we have every right to cut him down for sayin what he says.
The point is, if you dont like it here, get the **** out and accept that nobody likes byrd, his style or anything else. If you dont like the internet, unplug your ****, cancel your service and get off it.Last edited by El Jesus; 10-02-2005, 05:21 PM.

Pretty much sum's it up, but to push it a bit further....last night EVERYBODY in the arena (and not on the net) were booing Byrd. The ref. pleaded with them to do something. Mark Ratner of the Nevada State Athletic Commission went to their corners at one point and informed them that the commission had the means and the right to withold their purses. And, the commentators had plenty to say about it too.
So, to narrow it down to just us at the site and on the net in general is really unfair. Did you do so for convenience sake, since you cant say these things to the thousands in attendance at the fight, Ratner and the commission, the commentators and all the million of tv viewers that sat thru that last night? I dont pity Byrd, but feel plenty sorry for the fans that paid their hard earned money to watch it live. I swear I actually wondered if, since they are such good friends, if they made a pact that goes something like this: tell ya what, were great friends and I dont want to hurt you and vice versa...so, lets go in there and make our pay and not hit each other with REAL intent. To hell with the fans that paid the ticket price and the fans that pay the monthly fee to subscribe to Showtime..this is about making money and not hurting each other.
Sounds crazy, but not as crazy as the excuse, or reasons, Byrd gave for his performance in the post fight interview.
If you just have to take this matter up with us non-boxers, you can only do so RIGHTLY by taking it up with the entire fan base, and not just the ones posting at the same site you do. It's only fair, after all.
