Yes, because it is the best available fight for FMJ if he will not fight Pac or Martinez. Cotto has experience, enough power, with a better trainer, and the best at JMW. This will also show how good FMJ's skills really are instead of these fantasy fights.

at this point, based on the pp cotto has and hasnt been fighting, this fight would indeed be pointless.cotto has already gone as far as he can go. in boxing years id go as far as to say hes much older than guys like floydpac, and even martinez. blame his style. blocks too many punches with his face.

Truth be told, I think wouldve handed him a beating no matter when it took place, just the fight wouldve been bigger 3 years ago and it wouldve done more for Floyd and Cotto's legacy
