Does a Mayweather vs Cotto fight interest you at this stage?

if u mean foreman, there was no need to discredit him. i dont kno that many ppl that thought he was good to begin with. i thought his movement would give cotto some trouble but i wasnt at all convinced he'd win. ive seen mot of his fights. hes not that good.

the mayorga fight is indefensible. and if u wanna say margarito isnt shot then cool. but why the frik is cotto fighting him when he hasnt beat even a gatekeeper in going on 3 yrs? hes a no hoper just like mayorga.

I didn't think Foreman was going to beat Cotto. Give him problems, sure, but not beat him. I had only seen like 3 or 4 of his fights and thought he'd be a good comeback fight. But can't deny the hype the kid was given, both by the fans, media and Top Rank. Fast forward a year and now Foreman is a bum just to discredit Cotto. not by you, but other, less critically thinking fans.

I was cool with the Mayorga fight for two reasons. And my post history can confirm this, first reason was because I've always been a big fan of Mayorga, so from a fan service perspective, I was down with it. I was also even more relieved since Mayorga hadn't looked this physically impressive since probably the De La Hoya fight, so you knew that Mayorga was at least coming to fight. Secondly, I was ok with the fight because Cotto was coming off a shoulder surgery and most importantly, Arum's plan all along was to get Cotto/Margarito II off the ground and the Mayorga fight at least puts someone opposite of Cotto who is bigger and stronger than Margarito, to get him ready. Cotto/Margs II was always Big Bob's plan, so why would he jeopardize that?

And Margarito beat a gatekeeper/no-hoper before the Pac fight. Margarito has the physical and mental edge over Cotto, I don't see how he's a no-hoper against Cotto. Its still a 50-50 fight at this point

LMAO Jennings really? Who the hell is Jennings? You're either a fanboy and idiot or both. What Ortiz did against Berto is more impressive than anything that Cotto has done since losing to Margarito. If Clottey wasn't such a mental midget and actually let his hands go in the last couple of rounds he beats Cotto hands down. Cotto has one of the top resumes in boxing today and if you think otherwise your an idiot. And Cotto KO's Berto if they fought. Berto's chin is glass. If Cotto had Berto in the position that Ortiz had him in in the first round, the fight would of been over, period. Berto can't box, he just sets up that one punch and THATS IT.

The same people who are interested in this fight, are the same people who will be the first to discredit Floyd after Floyd knocks him out. Yeah that's right, knocks him out. Cotto's defense has gotten so bad it's embarrassing. He leaves himself wide open down the pipe. Once Floyd loses respect for his power, Floyd will take him out. Hell ZAB JUDAH could of knocked him out if he wasn't just a front runner and threw more punches, and that "mythical" jab Cotto has will get countered all night.

This is a complete and utter mismatch at this point. I seriously give Cotto NO CHANCE AT ALL in the fight, he's doesn't have 1 punch power, and he isn't consistent with his pressure anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I still have tons of respect for Cotto. I've been watching his career for a long time and I've been a fan for a long time aswell. The guy ducks nobody. I understand that most of you have "hope" that Cotto is still on the top of his game, but it's not true. All this stuff people are saying "He only has trouble with guys who put pressure" no. He has trouble with people who can take his punch and a right hand. Plain and simple. Clottey showed us that, and he isn't known for his Margarito type pressure. Which comes to the Margarito fight, he won't get passed Margarito. Guarantee.

Hell yeah!! People here are so ****in ******. Cotto is not shot at all. He took a couple of beatings but I think that fans overreact about how he is not the same. He is still relatively young and I believe he just needs a break and let his body recover. I mean Marquez takes a beating every time he fights and he never slows down, Look at how Morales performed against maidana.
