I know people have trouble being objective, especially because Alvarez holds a belt, but look at the pace this kid is at at the age of 20. Alvarez is worth the hype at the moment, and is doing exactly what he should.

I was reluctant he was going to live up to the hype, but after the 4th round of the Rhodes fight I was reserving my yearly pass to the Canelo Express.

I think the kid is gonna either be special or he's gonna give us a ton of action packed fights trying to be great.

I'm not on the bandwagon just because he really hasn't fought anyone, BUT i will tell you I am very impressed with some of his ability. He is extremely composed/relaxed in the ring which is rare for a fighter his age, he throws excellent combinations, and he seems to have nice power. I would like to see him use the jab more often and continue to develop as a body puncher.

Golovkin got the better of him in sparring

Was rhodes thatmuch of a joke or is canelo better than many think.

The style matchup looked to be horrible for rhodes.

Canelo is definitely a strong 154lber. Looked stronger than rhodes

So? Golovkin is an accomplished amateur, bigger guy, and badass. Canelo learned a lot from this camp, he improved a lot since the hatton fight. And got his best sparring ever. Even think that might he a good thing?

He seems to be a quick learner, improving with every fight.

I liked how prepared he was for the southpaw stance.

Some fighters have problems with it, but he was landing his best punches when Rhodes fought left-handed.

I think he's ready for anyone at 154. I don't mind if he fights someone who isn't great next time out but Mayorga...that guy hasn't won a meaningful fight for about 10 years.

I see a very special fighter in the making.

I don't think people are taking into account just how much better and stronger he is going to get. He's barely a man at this point and he's already huge and powerful (his back and neck are ridiculous for a 20 year old)...when he fully develops physically he's going to be a tank. He's strong, he's fast, he throws great combo's and he's got a good boxing IQ.

                  He'll be a terrific fighter.

Mayorga is an overrated clown. Great ticket seller though.
