MMA & UFC has not earned the right to even be spoken in the same sentence with boxing. Boxing has been around sense the egyptians. The sport as we know it is over 100 years old. Its so rich in history, MMa and ufc will never produce a Joe luis,, Ali, rocky Marciano, Ray robinson, Mike tyson, Pacman, or Floyd Mayweather. Its just a sport where a bunch of steroided men roll around on the ground hugging each other , in gay ****ing position, in tight speedos, with colored hair and tattoos. Its a show like WWE, nothing more.I agree its on the decline now, even with all of its promoting all over tv its still failing now. Boxing sells itself, no need for promoting on every chanel, its the worlds oldest and most fav Blood sport.

Boxing is a global sport that despite it's own issues and problems still makes for some of the most captivating and exciting moments in all professional sports.

Nothing compares to boxing, when both fighters are coming out with their music and before that on occasion their respective national anthems it's epic and no other sport can really compare to that and when they get in the ring and go to battle it's art it's science it's ****ing war.

          UFC/MMA

I don't like that style of combat but I am not one of those boxing fans that shoots down UFC fans because they are entitled to watch and enjoy whatever they want. With that said though Boxing is not going anywhere it's here to stay and it will never go away

Boxing never left, and I don't know a thing about MMA so I can't agree or disagree with you on if it is starting to fade or not.

Boxing will always be superior in terms of combat sports, it makes the most entertaining bouts and captivating back stories. Reason you can still watch classic fights from over 30 years ago and still feel like you're watching something special. Also notice how all of the best sport movies in cinema have been about boxing (Rocky, Raging Bull, Million Dollar Baby, The Fighter, ect.)

I like MMA but I always felt like people liked it because it was the "new cool thing" to like, and in that effort decided to crap on boxing. There are some very respectable MMA fans who really love the sport, and then you have the tools and energy drinking ADD crowd. I'm sorry but MMA will never have compelling figures like Duran, Ali, Tyson, De La Hoya, ect. And they will NEVER have fights that can match the passion, intensity and sheer beautiful violence of Gatti - Ward, Ali - Frazier, Hagelr - Hearns, ect.
