Bob Arum is content with cherry picking fights for his superstars (Pacquaio, Jr.) but is throwing one of his other fighters into a potentially career ending fight? It doesn't make sense...

Lucian packs that scary Romanian power that could knock down a tree.

This is actually a good matchup, both are relatively untested at the top level at 168.

I am looking forward to it. I got Bute if any one wants to bet.

Pavlik pretty much asks for these fights. Remember Pavlik asked for Hopkins, he was the one who asked for Bute as well.

Pacquiao claims Arum picks for him, but that would be weird since Pacquiao is bigger than Pavlik and you would think he gets to call his own shots. Which Arum has said he presents the fighters to Pacquiao, but Pacquiao gets to pick from those fighters. I.E.: Choose from Berto, Marquez or Mosley...Pacquiao picked Mosley, the oldest one and the one who had looked the worse recently to of the 3, at that time.

Makes sense, you gotta respect Kelly Pavlik for that. He wants the biggest fights out there. He must live by the principle "the higher the risk, the higher return." This fight definitely (Lennox) has a lot of risk and upside and could obviously propel Pavlik back into the spotlight...

I'm scared for Pavlik's sake, I wish he had a few more tuneups before stepping into the lion's den. I'll be rooting for Kelly, but Bute is a beast.

Bute by KO. Too soon for Pavlik.

I got Pavlik for this one. Bute is heavily overrated it aint even funny. Pavlik is still a beast. Martinez had quite a bit of trouble with him and lost to hopkins considering BHop makes everyone look bad.

Pavlik's tune up fight was to get rid of ring rust more or less. I think people will be surprised that Bute will have trouble with him.

I'm pumped for this fight! Go Pavlik!

Agreed. I think atleast one more tuneup would be wise.

Really what does it take to please boxing fans? They criticize Arum for putting his fighters against each other, and for not having them take risks. Now he puts Pavlik against a very risky fighter with Bute, who is outside of the Top Rank stable, and everyone is criticizing him yet again. Why the hypocricy?
