Looking forward to it. I hope Kelly will be back to his pre-Hopkins state. Montreal seems to be the venue because of the money. Kelly has to really dominate Bute to make it easy for the judges up there.

Arum is probably telling himself that Kelly's a white guy with no fan base, why not cash in now as you never know what Pavlik will do further down the road (an alcoholic is a alcoholic, you never know when he goes back to the bottle)

There's plenty of time for Pavlik to test himself against a guy like Aaron Pryor jr. Pavlik aswell as Kessler and Dirrell, at this point, need to defeat a solid SMW fighter before getting it on with Bute/Ward/Froch. Bute might be a bit overrated, we won't know till he is beaten or beats one of the best.

I think Bute will look like the next big thing here. Pavlik is tailormade for him.

                Bute by KO. Brutal.

Everyone is aware Pavlik has never been KOd right?

And Bute, we don't really know if he is that much of a power puncher. His resume just doesn't tell you a whole lot.

I'm amazed at how shot people think pavlik is.

I'm still deferring to what Teddy Atlas said, and I agreed with most of it.

Here is what Atlas had to say about Pavlik during last night’s Friday Night Fights telecast: “I was impressed a lot more than a lot of people thought. All I heard was how bad Pavlik looked. I even heard that he was a shot fighter. He had his alcohol problems and came back. I thought he looked great. He moved his head a little bit more, he developed a counter left hook. He had a guy in front of him [Lopez] that wasn’t a world beater but was awkward, a guy that was coming forward. He countered. He didn’t walk into punches. I saw improvement in Pavlik. I really liked what I saw. I think he needs to continue improving. He has a long left hand. He needs to educate it more, hook off it, uppercut off it; let it talk a little bit more. Sometimes when goes defensively, moves his head better, like that but sometimes he handcuffs himself going defensive too long. He needs to go defensive, turn the offense on right away so guys don’t put punches together on him. He can still fit in there. A little bit more development. Let him get one or two more fights under his belt. I like him the other night.”
People don't pay attention to the little stuff.
                    *He had head movement
*He was using a nice counter left
*He didn't just walk into punches

My opinion is Pavlik shouldn't take this fight so soon. He needs to have a few fights leading up to it. At least one more first. And he definitely shouldn't fight in Montreal.

No offense to the Canadians, but Pavlik won't get a fair decision if the fight goes 12 rounds.

And again, People at Boxing Scene can be such turncoats. Almost everyone in this place loved this guy when he was coming up, beat Zurtuchi, Miranda, Taylor with hugely impressive KOs (more impressive than any Bute has ever had).
