Roy Jones Jr would of kicked Tarver's ass about 3 years ago. Styles make fights and Tarver's long, rangy southpaw style is definitely trouble for Roy.
Keep telling yourself that.
Series is 2-1 Tarver, but anybody who feels like Roy earned a victory in that first fight probably considers Wladimir Klitschko's performance last week an impressive one.
The Jones of old used to dominate tall rangey guys like Tarver with ease (e.g. eric harding--who defeated and broke tarver's jaw in their first fight--and others).
Roy Jones hid behind excuses his entire career, and tonight he has been beaten for the 2nd time by the same man, a man who arguably bested him THREE times. No amount of excuses can change the fact that when it comes down to it, one on one, Antonio Tarver is better than Roy Jones Jr.

A man that beat him TWICE when he was WAY past his prime, idiot.

Another great post by DiegoFuego.
And all of this "Jones would have beat him 3 years ago" talk is pure speculative bull**** that can never be proven. The FACTS are that Tarver beat Jones head to head 2-1.
For anyone who says, "Jones would have won x number of years ago", I'll gladly throw out the opinion that Tarver would have won because they both carry the same amount of weight: NONE.
Fact of the matter is Tarver won the series, ruined Roy's career, and sent his ***** ass into retirement. Roy couldn't beat a guy that truly wanted it when it came down to it. Tarver has made himself a legend tonight and he will always be remembered as the guy who owned Roy Jones Jr.
