do you give floyd credit for dominating jmm like no 1's ever done?

context is everything...
• CONTEXT 1 = floyd dominating #2 p4p as first fight after retirement: YES credit
• CONTEXT 2 = having a LW gain 20lbs in a training camp to a catchweight that floyd didnt even stick to (jmm losing speed & timing... essential for his counter-punching style): NO credit
so keeping things UNBIASED, i think it was a great display for floyd... it showcased his impeccable timing and ring IQ. a VERY solid win for floyd.
BUT... considering the circumstances, one CANNOT overlook the obvious handicap... at the announcement of the fight, EVERYONE knew it was going to be a mismatch (not a knock on jmm, but more on the reality of weightclasses).
so yeah, floyd gets credit but it shouldnt be exaggerated.... thats like giving pac too much credit for beating oscar.
Burt Sugar didn't seem to know. At least, until AFTER the fight was over. Before it, he thought it was a good matchup.Comment

this is kind of insane, he didint get in because of one fight over a past prime leonard, as someone pointed out, it was the fact that he had already scored several solid defenses beforehand and maintained a steady career afterward.
its times like this when siliencers presence would be critical but im guessing he got tired of discussing two fighters exclusively
Thanks for discussing this topic.............some posters are childish. They hurry up trying to outdo instead of just discussing. It's sad and childish.Comment

It's ****ty for us, it's not ****ty for them <-----------------that is my point. There I summarized it for you.Comment

Big difference between overpowering Marquez with size and power and totally outclassing him with skillz. So there are NOT a number of Welterweights that would've done the same thing.Comment

Yeah it's a **** fight....but that's not the only reason why the fight was made. My point is that it makes business sense. If fronter who can't afford **** and laughs at those who can afford finds it ****ty then don't buy it. He can stop preaching that this is a **** fight coz it will not matter.
But, obviously that doesn't enhance anyones legacy if the fight is unlegit just because it sold well.
