Just a suggestion.

Nah, I started with "It's a ****ty fight, just like the November fight."

Then you replied "if it's ****ty then it shouldn't sell."

I pointed out how sales oft times have nothing to do with quality, citing examples.

    Then you inadvertently agreed.

Why would a lightweight (135lb) need to gain 20lbs to fight at 144?

so yeah, floyd gets credit but it shouldnt be exaggerated.... thats like giving pac too much credit for beating oscar.

Burt Sugar didn't seem to know. At least, until AFTER the fight was over. Before it, he thought it was a good matchup.

Taking into consideration that he was inactive before the fight, yes. The real question is the amount of credit to be given.

Here's the thing....there are a lot of fighters who has a lot of defenses who didn't get the HOF nod. So what will a boxing fan think? Could it be because of that 1 name in his resume. Like everybody is saying.......he did not deserve the HOF, he did ordinary things. You can't fault a fan for saying it.

Thanks for discussing this topic.............some posters are childish. They hurry up trying to outdo instead of just discussing. It's sad and childish.

Big difference between overpowering Marquez with size and power and totally outclassing him with skillz. So there are NOT a number of Welterweights that would've done the same thing.

Well, yes the fight made business sense since it sold well.

But, obviously that doesn't enhance anyones legacy if the fight is unlegit just because it sold well.
