What do Ortiz have to do to win?

Does he apply constant pressure like with Berto. Or does he pick his spots to be aggressive, on the ropes. What punch does Ortiz have in his arsenal that may cause Mayweather problems? If you had to give a percentage what would be Ortiz chance to win?

Dangle some crack infront of him and have a ugly crackhead with a paternity test in his corner. Floyd will def not show up. Or put Pacq in his corner, dude wont even enter the arena.

He needs to use the jab and go to the body CONSTANTLY. Their's no backing up and he can't just be walking him down either he just needs keep the jab in his face and hit the body and try to win rounds on work rate alone. Difficult task but it's not entirely impossible either.

Well there is your first problem since Ortiz doesn't throw a jab, at all.

**** this is a tall task.

Well first off is You can't outbox this guy but i would have him fight a intelligent pressure fight.

                  1) Coming in behind a double jab or jab left hook. Throw to the body then spin out on angles not backing straight out. Jab to the body early and often, if that's the only punch that's there throw it.

                  2) Oritiz will have to keep a mid tight guard not exposing his head or his body too much but keeping it mid give him the opportunity to react to a jab to body or head.

                  3) I would have Ortiz work on stamina and an accurate fast double jab. to break up timing as well as use your legs and angels to keep out of trouble. Allot of head movement when idol or in a defensive posture.

                  4) I would try to keep enough pressure on Floyd to keep him tense but i would stay out of his range and make him use his legs to start any kind of offensive attack. Make him reach even though you have shorter arms.

                  5) If you go into attack make it rough and get out fast. leave no openings for counter punches.

                  6) Don't press the action too much if Ortiz gasses out to early it will be a long night.

Ultimately he's going to have to blend a bit of boxing with a bit of rough house smart tactics... i guess kinda like Castillo did...

His coaches are really going to have to eat up allot of tape make sure they have a good plan A that can fall back to a plan B.

haha yeah I know. he's really going to need to pull something out of the hat. Castillo really laid the blueprint out which came the closest and should have probably got him the win in the 1st fight at least.

That's why I think prime Cotto could have had a good shot because he did all of that. Was a stylistic nightmare for pure boxers. Ortiz isn't damage goods though, still very young and could still learn a thing or too since he's not prime yet. I wouldn't totally count him out since he always has a punchers chase like anybody else with heavy hands but Floyd definitely should win this unless the layoffs finally bite him in the ass.
