Martinez needs a fighter who brings enough $$$ to the table to make the fight viable--in this case, it's Barker. If Pirog brings little and asks for too much, then Martinez should duck him. If you want to lay blame on anyone, it should be on Pirog's manager/promoter, not on Martinez's.

You sound like nothing more than a Sergio apologist in denial that Sergio is taking a fight against someone who doesn't deserve it, that he will win easily, for no reason other than he is desperately trying to land a fight against Mayweather, Pacquiao, or Cotto, and doesn't want to risk that slim to none chance.Comment

zbik was the mandatory and only became champ after martinez refused to fight him. martinez could have fought him off hbo if he wanted to keep his belt but he's a spoiled baby and will only fight on hbo for millions of dollars against hand picked opponents.Comment

The truth is the middle weight dividing sucks. None of the fighters are that good and none wanna go outta their way to prove themselves. The best fighter by far in the division is Martinez. Only fighters worth a shot are Sturm and Geale. But neither want to fight. Serg doesn't wanna fight Pirog for whatever reason and Pirog honestly doesn't deserve a shot. But the Barker fight is more than questionable. What does that say? No 1 is really right. If u wanna criticize Sergio go ahead. But he deserves less blame than anyone else.Comment
